This isn't like after some Floyd win of recent memory. Ward isn't going to get that kind of respect nor should he. He just isn't there yet and ONE CLOSE win over Kovalev suddenly doesn't take him over the top, just like Manny's wins over JMM weren't anything decisive either.

This is literally like JMM/Pac in that you can't be taken seriously if you feel one is clearly better than the other off of the first fight alone.

Definitely an ATG at 168lbs - anyone who denies that is not being realistic. He was by a country green mile the best 168lber in a very strong era at super middleweight. He would certainly be competitive against any 168lber in history, including Roy Jones, who I think is one of the few guys who beats Ward.

At light heavyweight he is still a great fighter, but nowhere near what he was at 168lbs, he hasn't seemed to have carried the weight so well, he is slower and his lack of punching power is more of a hinderance at the higher weight. Although some of this could be attributed to him getting older and slipping as a fighter.
