No way Ward won 7 rounds there. Kovalev was robbed. Another black eye for Boxing. #KovalevWard

look at all these Compubox lovers in here lol.. Compubox also had Pacquiao land 81 total punches vs Mayweather, for an abysmal 19% connect percentage...these same clowns cried that was way off, said Compubox is just guys pushing buttons and went so far as to watch the fight in slow motion to count punches.. but now Compubox is the gospel lol..
these idiots fail to understand that judges aren't sitting there counting punches, this isn't the amateurs. professional boxing is scored on four criteria: clean punching, defense, effective aggression and ring generalship.
in an evenly matched fight judges look out for things the casuals don't. the way Kovalev was chasing Ward around the ring instead of cutting it says to the judges Ward is the ring general. and it also makes his aggression ineffective.
stop crying.. Ward won and rightfully so.Comment

Kovalev initiated a lotta the clinching, especially early. Kovalev damn near did what Floyd did to Maidana in their rematch. Kovalev had no interest in fighting Ward on the inside. And basically grabbed him whenever Dre got close, especially early in thr fight. And there was very little Ward could do aboutit because Kovalev was physically stronger.Comment

funny all the slow motion people usually arguing are not mentioning that a lot shots kov got credit for didnt even actually land when u watch in slow motion. Also alot of the rounds kov won he won big time and ones ward won he barely pulled alot those rounds out so him winning the overal punch stats is not a surprise

And you can be a ring general, and have effective aggression without cutting the ring off. You can also be cutting the ring off effectively and losing exchanges and be getting countered when you close the distance.Comment
