The Perez-Hooker decision was atrocious. Nothing transparent about it. Probably RN bribed two judges to ensure its investment keeps that lossless record to help prevent higher potential paydays from vanishing in one night.

The Kovalev-Ward scoring was questionable. Ward came back nicely in the second half to make it close but I also didn't see him winning 7 rounds overall. I would've been OK if it was called a draw because at the very least, Kovalev did NOT lose this contest in the ring. So Ward benefited from home cookin' at its finest. It's unfortunate because the fight itself was great. All Nevada had to do was to reward the deserving victor, not the guy with the bruised face who couldn't raise his hands in celebration immediately after the final bell. The largely pro-Ward crowd in the venue booed the decision because they knew the Russian got shafted.

That said, I think some fans categorize the judging as a robbery because, despite the closeness of the fight (unlike Perez-Hooker), there was a lot at stake: 3 belts and possible recognition of being the world's top boxer.

I made a pfp poll and that's the end result. Only tracks first 100 votes but that's how it ended

      I'll make one again soon

Landed more punches, knocked him down, did WAY more damage, and had to deal with Ward's grappling all night. Christmas came early for Ward this year - at least he has something to be Thankful for on Thursday.

Kovalev initiated a lotta the clinching, especially early. Kovalev damn near did what Floyd did to Maidana in their rematch. Kovalev had no interest in fighting Ward on the inside. And basically grabbed him whenever Dre got close, especially early in thr fight. And there was very little Ward could do aboutit because Kovalev was physically stronger.

Finally got around to watching the fight again. I thought Kovalev won it close watching live. But I just scored it 114-113 Ward. And I watched a feed where both announces scored it for Kovalev. So there was no cheerleading.

I gave the 1st to Kovalev, even though neither did much of anything. I think an even round may be more appropriate. But Kovalev landed a jab that got Ward's attention and won him the round on my card.

Obviously the 2nd was 10-8 Kovalev.

The 3rd was a swing round IMO. Ward landed the cleaner shots. But after being down in the 2nd. And spent most of the 3rd going backwards. It gave the impression that he was trying to survive. Which likely lead to Kovalev winning the round on a lotta folks cards. But for me, I thought Ward took it.

Ward also landed the cleaner shots in the 4th. But Kovalev pressed the action. And Ward didn't land enough to steal the round on my card.

I thought Ward won the 5th pretty comfortably.

I had Kovalev winning the 6th.

The 7th was much of the same. Ward landing the cleaner shots, Kovalev pressing the action. I thought Ward did enough to win it, and did on my card. But you could give to Kovalev if you wanted to badly enough.

I had Ward winning the 8th. I thought he did a number on Kovalev's body.

The 9th and 10th are really interesting to me. The 9th has kinda been conceded as a Ward round. While the Kovalev folks seem to feel he got jobbed in the 10th. I actually thought Ward won the 10th pretty clearly. But I gave the 9th to Kovalev. Ward landed some clean shots and made Kovalev miss a lot. But Kovalev really pressed the action and even though he didn't land much. His pressure was so great it forced Ward to be 100% defensive and he had no breathing room to attempt an offense.

The 11th was really close. Kovalev pressed the action, but Ward landed clearer. I thought Ward did enough clean punching to take the round. But I have no issues with anyone saying that was Kovalev's round. But Ward won it on my card.

I gave Ward the 12th. He didn't dominate it, but did enough to win. I think that was kinda a byproduct of Kovalev thinking he has the fight won. Because he didn't fight with the same energy and sense of urgency that he had in the previous 3-4 rounds.

All in all, it was some high level stuff in the ring that night. I think the Kovalev folks put too much stock in the early KD. After the KD, Ward did a lotta moving, and Kovalev did a lotta chasing. And that gave the impression that he was trying to survive. I also think a lotta Ward's body work went relatively unnoticed.
