Cause Kovalev landed more on the face.

But Ward worked more on the body.

Ward has bruises on his face... and Kovalev probably pissed blood after the fight. But we only saw one of these naturally.

"Ward lost that fight, I dont care what people say or the corrupt judges that scored the fight. Bring on new judges and fire them senile f**ks "

I know, I don't even see how it was that close

NO, NO it doesn't. But in a fight people are deeming "close" damage could be a significant deciding factor.

I myself thought kov took it by at least 3 point, and that generous to Ward.
So now a judging criteria is facial damage?

If it's a reflection of power shots yeah. If berrera would have landed more and the fight was closer it would be significant.

body shots do count, guys. you can't go one way and not go that same way in another fight. ward's one of the best insdie fighters in the sport, and he lands hard shots inside. just turn the sound up and listen to them.

while i think it's easier to give the fight to kovalev than it is to give it to ward, his face isn't necessarily the be all end all. ward worked the body very well in the later stages of the fight. if you want to have some kind of measurable metric for how hard those body shot were you can look at kovalev's snap on his shots being slightly diminished late in the fight. and kovalev is a guy with great technique on his shots who doesn't load up and get tired typically. those body shots did take a toll. the question is whether or not you think he ward won enough rounds to discount the knockdown and the very rocky start.

damage is literally what you score in a boxing match. it doesn't have to be facial damage exclusively, but you are doing nothing in a boxing match other than scoring who does more damage.

clean effective punching is a means of scoring damge
ring generalship is a means of avoiding damage and scoring your own damage.
defense is the avoidance of damage, and a means of tiring out and figuring out one's opponent so you can do more damage than he does.
agression is only effective and scored when it means you are doing more damage.

if you don't know how to score a round, just ask at the end who you thought did more damage and you'll have your answer.

Face damage does not mean you won or lost a fight, however, I do think that's the reason round 10 was given to Ward on all three cards. He started bleeding from the nose that round

this is true, but some guys have worse chins, don't they? do you not score a guy's chin?

some dude takes a bomb and doesn't blink wins a round against a dude who takes a bomb and goes down and is hurt.

two guys fight an even round, and one guy gets cut with a clean punch, you score the round to the guy who cut the other guy.

you did ask that, i just think we're talking our way around that.

you do score facial damage. it's just that it's not the only scoring criteria.
