"It's more of a testament to how useless it is to look at one's face, Pacquiao was dominant and looked pretty damn awful after the fight."
But if one boxer is not so dominant, and the punch totals are similar. It's significant in who landed the more telling blows...Comment

fights arent scored based off bruisesThe damage sustained was much greater than the damage kov sustained. This is a reflection of the greater power shots landed by kovalev

No it's not because some fighters have scar tissue as it is, Marquez brothers, Rosado, Izzy and the list goes on and on.
That's almost to suggest that judges take a high definition photo of the fighters' faces after a close one, just the thought of that...shitComment

LOL noo the nate diaz scarr tissue lie. "he didn't land much is was from the scarr tissue" BS. Kovalev landed more power shots, which should be a factor in judging.
I'm simply pointing out the obvious evidence which demonstrated kovalevs obvious power shot advantage, on wards face.Comment

"fights arent scored based off bruises"
IN a "close" fight the landing of power shots is significant. Wards face is evidence that Kovalev did just that, had the edge in power shots landed. Not to mention compubox
If kovalev had the edge in power shots landed and total punches landed...wellll
O boxing is scored round by round, yes and kovalev won more round due to that advantage.Comment
