I didn't set out to embarrass you but you're really digging yourself a hole with the lol's and cute gifs because all you have to do is watch the HBO cast (which is bootleg'd on Youtube, that's where I downloaded mine) and you can see it from the other side of the ring. Andre's left glove is pressed against the side of his face when Kovalev throws that right and it bounces off.

      Only two shots landed.

Fancy that , youre saying that from the other side of the ring it looked different .

3 judges 3 different perspectives all with a single point difference over 12 rounds , this video shows a lot more than the official broadcast as to how close it really was .

Indeed. I watched that vid yesterday and said to myself "moment of truth". To my surprise, it revealed a lot of Kovalev's shots missing. I don't know if it was the HBO chuckleheads or the audience cheers, but so many blows that seemed to be great shots for Kov weren't. I think it's the same reason people say Ward got hit a lot by Barrera, but it was actually 15%. He's got a real economy of motion and doesn't move a lot to avoid a punch.

Not to say Ward didn't get caught a lot against Kovalev, he did. But, while Roy and Jim are talking about all the work Kovalev is doing, there are a lot of quick shots Ward is landing. Many of them are seen in this vid but are not as apparent in the broadcast.

As you say, many angles, perspectives, opinions.

You just proved my point. It hits Andre's glove, which is why the glove moves!! lol
You think Andre just threw his hand forward for no reason as Kovalev punched?

Guy, you're making this hard on yourself.

It was blocked, until it wasn't blocked. Since it went through his glove. Don't be such a nuthugger.

Once again, I'm a Ward fan and I saw 2 solid shots landing & a third one that scored points. 3 total if you ask me. But let's not get all caught up in a couple of sequences & focus on the entire fight. What people aren't bringing up is that Kovalev (as the champion) was not the one getting stronger as the fight wore on. It was Ward. Ward finished much stronger IMO. I understand the fans who say Ward needed to do more to TAKE the belts from the Champ but let's also not act like Kovalev was the same fighter he was the first 4 rds. Ward made him fight his fight at his pace & made Sergey look like a tiring fighter. Respect to both fighters. Let's hope for a rematch ASAP
