The comments have become more about Kovalev fans or Ward haters wanting their perspective of the fight justified more than just debating the actual reasons why some view Ward as the winner as opposed to Kovalev. Some chump actually proclaimed that EVERY boxing expert thought Kovalev won. Smh...he got jokes.

Ward won round 5 barely.
Ward won rounds 7 and 8 barely
Round 9 was a clear swing round
Ward won round 11 which imo was his best rd.

Wards winning rounds were very close rounds.

Kovalev won rounds 1-4 very clearly.
kovalev won round 6 .
Kovalev won round 10 clearly landing clean.
Kovalev won rd 12 .

Add in a dominating knockdown
More power punches landed , the 5 best punches in the fight landed .
Ward being hurt at least 4-5 different times in the fight visibly.
Jabs were almost even in total lands.

Kovalev took care of business.

i smell your BS a mile away, ward didn't "barely" win round 7, he dominated..and round 12 was ward punishing kovalevs ribs. another ward round. .he won, he outworked him in the second half, made the necessary adjustments.

Won 4 at best? Ward won 4 rounds clearly 7,8,9,11. Kovalev won 3 rounds clearly 1,2,6. Every scorecard i've seen (apart from Ledermans) has them scored that way.

3,4,5,10,12 are the rounds that people are debating.

I say he won seven with tje knockdown and hes the champ you have to beat the MFN champ actually beat him 7rounds and have a knockdown but that didnt happen KOVALOV did.that to challenger he did his job saturday night and got robbed.... So by 4 rds at most he means the entire second half? Kovalev was a front runner who took advantage of Wards mistakes; mistakes he won't make in the rematch. You can argue the score all you want, but it is what it is and the LHW division has a new champ. try to get it in the rematch, but I don't see it going any differently than the second half of the fight

What's your point? Kov landed 10 more punches than Ward and landed more power punches.

And did it all in a handful of rds. He outlanded ward a lot in rd 2. That makes the difference. Power punches and jabs are all punches its subjective to who scores them differently just like body work and head punches. Fact of the matter Ward eeked out each rd after 5 (you may can give kovalev rd 10) and rd 3. Kovalev gassed. no ones fault but his own
