I agree. Ward and Kovalev are quite equal in terms of skill but Kovalev is clearly the bigger and stronger man of the two. This fight didn't prove who is the best pound for pound fighter in the world to me. They both look flawed.

and I agree with that, but that's not the question.

Question is who won more clearly..
This fight wasn't manny-floyd (although some people deny it was clear). This one wasnt as clear it was more like Castillo fight...

You expect a fight between top fighters to be wide? They're top fighters for a reason.

I think it will be brought up again and again in the future just like Castillo 1 is with Mayweather.

He wasn't even gonna get in the ring the first time, last I checked.

I thought Floyd clearly outclassed Pacquiao and Canelo and those were built as superfights between two top fighters.
So yes I did want a clear winner out Kovalev Ward. A fight between two top fighters has been one sided before but its obviously rare.

I should've worded that differently. I should've said "always be wide". Yeah, it happens, but I don't see how you can hold it against either fighter if it's close.

I think a rematch would happen, apart from the scorecard this fight wasn't a bad fight.

They are both very solid fighters. It wasn't a knock on them. But for a fight that was for pound for pound supremacy I would have preferred a clear winner. We wanted to have a consensus on who was the best fighter in the world now that Mayweather has retired and we didn't really get that last night. Some people still think Kovalev is better and others think Ward did enough to prove he was better.

The rankings are now as murky as they've ever been.
