Great fight it was close and the same lames that cry about Mayweather /Castillo will cry about this fight bringing up a close fight and pretending it was the robbery of the century

My point is that this fight will likly define Ward's career. Although Castillo wasnt as significant for Floyd we still discuss that fight.

I agree this fight was very close, but was it closer than Floyd-Castillo?

Floyd beat Manny (his "Kovalev") clearly and actually gave Castillo the rematch so there is no argument there. But if Ward doesnt rematch Kovalev - how much credit does he get?

P.S. No comment for people who see EVERYTHING as Floyd-Manny BS... it's sad.. get over it already

I'll put it to you like this: We all know Floyd is a better fighter than Jose Luis Castillo no matter who you had winning that first fight. However, we don't know if Ward is a better fighter than Kovalev. I might even say Kovalev is better after what I saw last night.

So this decision may have been worse. I don't see Andre giving Kovalev an immediate rematch unless a sanctioning body orders him to.

He's contractually obligated to, isn't he?

There is a rematch clause in the contract but I'm not sure if it's going to happen

My thoughts exactly. I think this fight harmed Ward's image of being far superior fighter. He is definitely no Floyd. Some people had him on that level, he is clearly not. As boxers Andre and Sergey are quite close IMO.

How can a comparisson be neither? Nonsense..

You can say both are clear wins but X won more clearly...
