Bad decision, equally bad HBO commentary

It was an atrocious decision by the judges coupled by an equally biased blow-by-blow commentary by Max Kellerman, who is usually fair and impartial. Watch the replay of the fight and see how Kellerman calls every glancing shot landed by Ward but virtually ignores Kovalez's punches in many of the exchanges. Kudos to Harold Lederman for scoring it spot on, eight rounds to four for Kovalev.

I thought Ward won 5 rounds, but the KD definitely won Kovalev the fight, even if Ward won 6 rounds! No way did Ward win 7 rounds! Kovalev needs an inside game! Ward beat him to the body pretty good, and you could tell it was effective by Round 9.

Those weren't adjustments, Kovalev wore down, Ward didn't.

I am a Ward fan but the fight was clearly won by the Russian. Ward had to fight his way back and showed hearts but I thought he came up short. Cannot wait for the rematch!

Barely taking a round from 6 onward, still gets him at worse a draw. Thats the problem.

For ward to win, you have to give him all of the last 6 rounds, or be silly and give him 2 of the first 5.

Wouldn't he only need 1 of the 1st 5?

I'd say he he won 3 decisive rounds along with a few very close rounds.
