I think Kovalev done some dirty things too but he did say he'd retaliate to Ward I stopped counting clinches after the round 3 I think?

Byrd could have definitely done a better job last night and tbh keeping it open without the dirty **** It might have favoured Ward.

Overall I think If some of these people are saying Kell Brook exposed GGG what did Kovalev just do to the boxer the guy who has been rated on the same level as Pacquiao and Mayweather!
Ain't no ****in way in hell is Ward on those level just absolutely NO WAY!!!

For what it's worth, even John David Jackson doesn't call what Ward does "fouling", or even breaking the rules for that matter. He went even further to say that it should be solely up to the opponent to be able to deal with what Ward can do on the inside and at close range.

What a fantastic fight!

Top level stuff here and a fight that I will watch many times and surely will be used for study film for Future rising boxers!

I thought SOG would put on an absolute clinic and win a clear UD but this isn't what happened!

Kov showed his moxy and skills along with his dangerous power! JDJ taught him well and is an absolute scientist and Kov is a offensive technical wizard!

I knew he was very good but didn't know he has elite quality! His feint game was advanced, great great jab(key punch of the night), steps back when he needs to, and has underrated IQ...very underrated!

I picked Ward to win but I came away seeing Kov staying champion and having an elite prime undefeated boxer on his scalp mantles, the most envious of all wins on a boxing CV!! 115-113 Kovalev was my score!

Ward is extremely tough and showed his durability and at times looked rusty till he pickes it up late but too late IMO and with a gassed Kov at that who was tired of chasing SOG!
Loved his heart after taking a great shot and getting up to survive the onslaught that many wouldn't get away from! He did his best that night especially late but Kov IMO was just the better man but the judges have the decision to Ward!

Rematch is very necessary in which I think will be bigger and just as good if not better fight! I smell a trilogy, Kov prolly stops him this time!

He'll exclusively fight from the outside and Ward will be a sitting duck!

A+ fight that boxing needed badly!
Both guys should get huge respect for this and set the bar for the rest!

I thought Kovalev won the fight. He was schooling Ward through the first 1/2 of the fight. The second half of the fight was more competitive with Ward winning more of those rounds, but you could see who was being hurt and affected by the punches...and it wasn't Kovalev. This isn't the amateur points system, this is professional prize fighting. Andre got a beating and responded well but he didn't deserve the decision.
