Kovalev can no longer pull the trigger, watch his fights on NBC this man was a wrecking machine stringing combos together like crazy, now he tries to conserve is energy reminds me of an aging Pacquiao, Pac rarely throws anything anymore but it could be the KO affected him and made him cautions, while Kovalev hasnt been knocked out so its his body probably taken a toll from constantly cutting weight, he walk around heavier than Ward but if you look at Kovalev at weigh in he always looks drained and old, while Ward looks fresh and strong.

Dont be surprised if Kovalev gets knocked out in this fight or quits after being tired from the accumulation of punishment
So what you're saying is boxing ONCE AGAIN failed to deliver the big fight to us while both fighters were still prime.

Hey, I hope you're wrong, but I've been seeing and saying the exact same thing. I hoped maybe it was just better competition vs Pascal and BHOP, and better competition plus size disadvantage plus bad training camp against Chilemba. But, I've noticed it too. What made me think Kovalev on NBCSN was basically unbeatable outside of chin checking him was not only did he have elite power and distance and combos, but he threw like 80 punches a round. Crazy stamina for a light heavyweight. So even if you can take his power, he would just Leo Santa Cruz you anyway with constant points and win on rounds.

Haven't seen that lately. Maybe it's just because back then he only went a few rounds before KOing everyone. Maybe he knows vs better fighters he has to conserve more energy for all 12 rounds. Or maybe it's better competition. But, I've definitely seen exactly what you're seeing. If his stamina has really slowed then this fight will underwhelm us all again.

**** boxing, why can't they just make these fights before age 30-31, period? Never 32 or higher, that's always when decline starts.

        Exactly!

I think part of the argument has always been that, not only is Andre more skilled, but he's bigger as well, so Golovkin only has a puncher's chance.
Anyone saying they're equal size, especially with Ward growing into LHW, is just being foolish.
They've been saying Ward wasn't much bigger than ggg. GGG wouldn't just gave a punchers chance though. Anyone who says test completely misses what ggg can do in the ring. He isn't all power. In fact, most his career it isn't how he won, especially in amateurs.

The only reason most haters want ggg to go to 168 so bad is they know the size difference between ggg and 168 pounders is huge.

I've seen many great boxers say the jump from 160 to 168 is the biggest because SMW often tend to be LHW who squeez the extra 7 pounds to fight at some. That's why Ward at 30 could no longer make SMW. It became too hard. He's ways been a big SMW.

Who said he is the same size as GGG , he was the next weight class above he is obviously bigger , just in case you havent noticed Ward is making the very step he wanted GGG to take .
Nope. Ward is fighting in the weight class he fought at in amateurs. He's a natural LHW.

            GGG is a natural MW.

Ward is every bit a light heavyweight and he has been for a long time. Him and kovalev are both 6 foot with very similar reach. There hasn't been any "growing" into the weight, Ward is a natural light heavyweight. Along with the likes of groves, Jack, degale. All of them are easily light heavyweight who drain to make supermiddleweight

... I wouldn't mind if Ward wins, but only in a manner which is similar to what Floyd did vs Canelo...

Both look great, focused, and very confident. Looks like we're getting the best of both fighters tonight. No excuses, just sit back and enjoy.
