Comments Thread For: Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward - Rematch Clause is in Place
Sergey Kovalev (30-0, 26KOs) defends his light heavyweight titles this weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas against Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs).
Good for Kovalev and Main Events. Well done. Sick of seeing ducker fighters like Floyd always get rematch insurance, but never the guys who take on all comers like Kovalev. And props to Ward for accepting. Very, very, very surprised about that.

so basically kathy wants no parts of a rematch if kov wins.
Kovalev is the champ so I can understand why he'd have a rematch clause. It's very rare for a challenger to have a rematch clause. If it's a close fight and Kovalev wins a split decision & the fight does well financially I'm sure Duva wants a rematch

while part of me feels its warranted if that scenario happens, remember this is kathy duva, who pissed away a career high payday vs stevenson over the russian currency
