          I have to say I was leaning towards Kovalev UNTIL I watched the Chilemba fight, now I know Ward will win over 12, maybe 117-111. Ward is too slick, he is such a pure boxer I love Kovalev but he won't catch Ward.

                It's not the outcome that determines whether it was a good prep or not, simply presenting a challenge and attempt to frustrate is enough, and I believe that happened.

                  In one thread your saying you know more about boxing than the forum combined and yet I see you make continued idiot posts like a fanboy protecting his hero .

                  You should know a different fighter wont prepare you for another they only spend 36 minutes with them , a fight only prepare your timing conditioning and bring you to peak as you get to let it all out with match gloves on .

                  The only way Ward or Kov could prepare for each other is if they sparred each other on a regular basis , the aim of both fighters is to be in their zone next Sat night , thats all mental conditioning focus and tuning your body fans place way to much emphasis on sparring partner and previous fight , this is the big one I expect both Ward and Kov to be a lot better than their previous matches .

                    Kovalev you made some mistake then.Chilemba can't shine Wards shoes man. You can't teach IQ Ward has highest IQ now that Floyd is gone. He does subtle moves Jackson just finding out and giving Ward credit for. A clinch is not a clinch with him it has Purpose besides rest all of a sudden your in the corner instead of in front, your being hit while your strong hand is held etc. things only the top minds learn and comprehend that's only the tip of the ice berg. You can move inches and be so out of position guy can't hit you it goes on and on

                      Truth. For me, the 2 take-away from the Chilemba fight are;

                      -Chilemba had success with techniques that Ward is 10x better at. It beggs the question, "If that was Ward, how would Kovalev have survived?"

                      -Kovalev made mistakes that he previously didn't make and lost techniques that he was able to use against Hopkins. That's inconsistency and it makes me doubtful that he'll be able to adapt with Ward as he gives different looks throughout the fight. When Kov gets frustrated, he just applies pressure rather than changing his approach. Historically, fighters that do that hit a brick wall when they reach P4P-level competition.

                      That said, Kov is one of my favorites and his ability goes far beyond power alone. It's absolutely a close fight.
