I disagree. I believe the logic is flawed. This isn't baseball or basketball where the risk is the same day in and day out. Not all things are equal here.

I'm not saying ggg isn't deserving of a 5 million Dollar payday. I just don't agree that he should have got it for fighting a WW. With that said it was a huge event and generated a ton of revenue. So ok, I get it. Also, just to be clear, loeffler can't offer ggg 5mil a fight at this point. That was all Hearn and that UK money that made that happen.

Brook don't generate money like that but he got it due to the risk he was taking.

Same should go for Jacobs. He should be dealt with fairly. If the fight is worth X then he should be offered a fair percentage of that (I say 40%). Not because of revenues generated but because of the fact that he's a champion and the number 2 in the division. Not to mention there's a good chance his stock is going to drop even more once he gets kablammed and he'll never se a pay day like that again.

ggg on the other hand is in a position where he could actually take a little less on this one (which I'm not saying he should), beat Jacobs, IMO establish lineage again and be the undisputed "man" of the division. Which in turn would raise his stock quite a bit, especially when it comes to the Canelo negotiations. Who by the way is the highest rated HBO fighter (not ggg).

You guys should be advocating higher purses and fairer negotiations as well as making concessions by ggg to make this fight happen. Because when Canelo starts treating ggg the same way ggg treats his opponents, you'll all be saying the same thing I'm saying about Jacobs now.

Why accept 25% (or less, tbh, with K2 being K2), when you can still get the same 25% at the purse bid, plus the opportunity to have the fight on more favorable ground?

There's a reason why K2 is adamant about avoiding a purse bid, and it's about time folks start realizing that.

split the fight 65/35, have K2 stage the fight wherever they feel most comfortable staging it (MSG, on HBO, with their German broadcaster and on the UK broadcaster that they preffer, etc), and put on the fight already.

All Jacobs has been asking for is fair share of the event; if K2 doesn't believe that the money is there to front, sharing the event is the only way to make sense of anything.

Guarantee Golovkin $1m, guarantee Jacobs $1m, and then split any upside on the fight 65/35 Golovkin. simple

Unless you know what offers have been made and turned down it's impossible to know who is ducking who. Team GGG wanted the fight in December but Jacobs needed more time to train. Maybe Jacobs is the one who doesn't really want to fight that badly or he could be asking for an unreasonable amount of money. It seems like everything that goes wrong is always blamed on GGG on this forum. I see nothing wrong with team GGG talking with Froch's team about a possible fight. If the Jacobs fight falls through they want another option. There is nothing new or unusual about that. That is a normal part of the business of boxing.

There's a mechanism in place that's there for K2 to use if, in fact, Daniel Jacobs is stalling, that they've adamantly refused to even consider using.

Because let's acknowledge the facts; Golovkin hasn't fought since September, and will at the earliest end up fighting in February/March.

For a 34-year old fighter, fully accustomed to fighting 4 times a year, K2 openly letting the talks run as long as they've already run does Golovkin, the fighter, no favors.

wba says 75-25 GGGs way. Unless you can think of a good reason that Jacobs (who has no following and brings no money to the dance) should get a 15% raise out of GGGs pocket, then they should just go to bid and leave it at that.

If Jacobs doesnt want it then fine, he can vacate or get stripped and GGG can move on in life.....

The bid is 75/25 Golovkin's way; everyone seems to understand that K2 doesn't want to have the fight off of HBO.

Whether the number is 15%, there's a value beyond what's been mandated that K2 should be ready and willing to pay to avoid having to deal with the possibility that the bout gets moved off of HBO.

People keep saying otherwise (and I don't know anything to change that), but there's a distinct feeling that K2 is unwilling to have Golovkin fight outside of HBO.
