I hate being so rude but you really sound clueless there. Maidana troubled Floyd for 3rds in each fight. He failed miserably. That's your formula for success? 3rds? Yikes...
Gameplanning will have a huge influence on this fight. They should keep their cards close to their chests. The more JDJ talks, the more I lean toward Ward.

Kovalev will gas out long before the championship rounds if that's his strategy. His stamina is not good enough to employ a volume punching strategy. His team is smart enough not to do that because if he doesn't get Ward out of there within 5 rounds he will have thrown the fight away. Whatever they are planning to do they must be able to do for 12 rounds.
if hes smashing ward to the body, wards going to get pretty knackered too. He doesnt have to do it quite like maidana does, cause thats exceptional punch output, but i dont want to see kovalev trying to box and then finding himself with a mountain to climb after a few rounds. even though mayweather was 37 he was still good enough to beat 8 time champ manny pacquiao, easier than he did chino maidana. This cant turn into a slow paced fight with kovalev following ward around the ring. Hes got to make this a horrible night for ward and take him out of his comfort zone from round one, you cant let a slick get into any sort of rhythm.

didnt he nearly win the first fight? CLose enough to warrant a rematch, which was fairly close on the scorecards too. He had his most success in the first 3 rounds, but he had success afterwards too. And whatever you say he did a hell of a lot better than most. theres no sense in dancing to wards tune, can call me clueless but sometimes boxings more simple than made out, rough him up, hit him with hurtful shots to the body to slow him down, fight at a fast pace, and dont let this guy get into any sort of rhythm. cause once ward starts feeling comfortable in there kovalevs in real trouble...

Maidana is a caveman compared to Kova.

And Dana had pillows because the Gay one would not fight him in right terms.

No, they weren't close. There was one bad card turned in, same with Canelo/Floyd. The rematch happened because the money was there and casuals got behind it.
I'll not a Floyd fan or apologist (I've rooted against him numerous times), it was just not nearly as competitive as people tend to remember.

Regarding the other, I've got nothing against you. If I disagree with something I'll call you on it. I've got friends on here who I argue with and poke fun at all the time but we've developed a mutual respect. I'm all about developing a rapport when possible. None of the bickering on here bothers me on a personal level.

when your as skilled as andre ward there is no mismatch this guy is an elite fighter idk why you would think different, even if he does lose it wont be a mismatch
