The fight is mandated, with the purse bid in place to handle things if the money in negotiations is so outlandish. If K2 doesn't want to put up the money, let it go to bid and have some other outfit put up the money.

Or simply give up the belt; argue that the WBA has put a structure in place that doesn't allow for the fight to be made on K2's terms, so that you can line up the next can fr Golovkin's fans to watch him knock over.

I can't wait for this fight, but anybody who thinks this PPV won't be a disaster is naive. None of these guys push the needle when it comes to mainstream media. I don't expect many people to order this PPV.

If Haymon had done what Roc did for Ward, and guaranteed Danny $5million for fighting GGG, it would be happening this Dec!

GGG isn't expecting anything like $5million for fighting Jacobs, and you know it. If that fight doesn't happen it will be because of Danny's unrealistic demands, not GGG's.

If you want Haymon and Co to guarantee anything on the fight, let the purse bid happen, and give the event to DiBella Entertainment (with DiBella taking the fight wherever he needs to take it to make the numbers work).

K2 wants to not only low-ball the money to Jacobs (I sincerely doubt that the ask was for anywhere near $5m for the fight), but they also want to choose the TV network, choose the venue, choose the sponsors, and basically have Jacobs just show up.

The bid was supposed to be in Octbober, K2 (not Jacobs) were the ones who asked for the extension, the extension has since expired again, and K2 (not Jacobs) are still talking about hashing out terms.

There's a reason why K2 has refused to go forward with the purse bid (after the one initial head fake, with K2 then spending the next how long still not going forward with the bid), and my guess is that K2 seems to sense that Showtime/Barclays is more invested in the potential fight than he's been able to get HBO/MSG, with Golovkin not actually able to cross the street for the fight (Jacobs and Co seemingly having no such issue).

I'm pretty sure anyone here if in the same position wouldn't say to themselves "Oh, geez, I would rather have less money". Good for Ward. Ward, get all the money you can.
