Simply too small. Abraham was too small as well. He ended up pacing in circles completely shelled up nowhere near his opponent.

Of course Golovkin is a much better fighter and would make it interesting, but still too small.

Oh my bad. I get it and totally agree on a lot of it but I don't think Dirrell would have been much of a task for GGG. He just can't stay away from punchers and he is a little chinny.

yeah wasnt being an arse, just what my question was yeah i'd pick GGG but i think dirrell had some serious potential and was a really good fighter back then.

He would have knocked out all of them.
I mean just think about it when Abel says he would be ever better at 168 and when I give it a thought I agree with him. GGG is a technically sound stalker who relies on effectively timed hooks rather than combos or flurries. He paces very slowly, isnt very fast yet deadly when it comes to balance. All those 168 pounders would be an easier target for him and he would have more ground to work on with more stationary targets.
Froch and Kessler would be an interesting fight but I think Golovkin has a pedigree strong enough to make him victorious and get a late ko/tko.
THE only fighter I would give an advantage over GGG is Ward (then and now).

Im not trying to **** on kessler, seems like a great guy and always came to fight, just saying i dont think he was that amazing at all
You really wanna go down the "who has Kessler beaten to be elite?" road, when you have GGG as your avatar? lol

Froch and Kessler I'd favour over him, skill wise Golovkin has the edge but both guys are huge. They both cut a lot of weight to make 168.

Hard to bully those guys, Ward bullied Kessler in the clinches something Golovkin doesn't do. Froch and him just went to war and they both have pretty solid chins. I don't think you can beat GGG running away because of his footwork, Dirrell gets beat for that reason. Abraham is too stationary and a small SMW so again he gets beat. Taylor and Green get demolished.

Triangle theories don't work. Neither does amateur history. If you expect GGG to run away the way Dirrell does then you might have a point.

Taylor beat Pavlik several times in the amateurs, Hopkins lost to Taylor, Taylor lost to Pavlik who won the Hopkins-Pavlik fight?

Cotto got demolished by Margarito in their primes, Cotto beat Mosley. Mosley loses to Margarito?

So that he doesn't have to fight Ward?

GGG fans are terrified of the thought of that fight, but let's ask another question, what if we replace Allan Green with GGG or Glen Johnson? that would've been more interesting now wouldn't it. I think GGG at his best is 50-50 against Kessler and Froch, 60-40 against Dirrell and Abraham and 90-10 against Johnson or Green.

No doubt in my mind that against the Ward of that time, he'd lose a wide clear decision.
