Do you understand that there is far more to the terms "left-wing" and "right-wing" than economic policy? Do you even understand the origin of the phrases?

The US is a very ideologically left-leaning country with a hybrid economy. It's not difficult to understand. Saying we have many leftists does not imply that we practice pure socialist economics. Why does this seem to give some people so much difficulty?

In the entire world there are a small handful of countries like Sweden and France that are further left than the US in law and ideology. "Left-wing?? Aside from the opinions of uneducated drug-addicts, the terms "left-wing" and "right-wing" have very specific meanings with origins in the traditional vs revolutionary wings of the national assembly during the French revolution.

I use the terms formally according to their origins and uneducated drug addicts have never dictated language to me. The US is technically a very left-leaning nation.
