I didn't watch it live, too young and not into boxing at that time in my life, but as soon as I fell in love with the sport, man, you get chills watching that fight. Holyfield was an absolute warrior. Real courage. You could see Tyson started to get rattled, and impatient as the rounds went on and ultimately almost helpless, and if you consider the fact that at that time Tyson was seen as an invincible monster, it's just an awesome fight all around.
This was post prison past his prime tyson suffering with mental health issues.

Always wonder how things would have played out if Tyson hadn't gone to prison. Wasted prime time right there.

        Holyfield is awesome

20 years man. It doesn't feel like it was that long ago. Time does fly though.

That's true but he was still a feared fighter and the favorite going in.

              Tyson vs Holyfield in 1991.

What a fight that would have been.

              Would have happened too.

My mother ordered every Tyson fight on his comeback, and I remember this night so well. I remember all the talk about Holyfield walking into a slaughter, and how shocked we both were when he whooped Tyson's ass. Definitely one of the most surprising sporting events I ever witnessed. Then the rematch happened and it was the craziest thing you ever saw.

Probably the first big fight I fully remember (I have vague memories of Eubank v Benn 2, or at the very least knowing of the fight) and all I knew was that Tyson was a destroyer. He even looked scary back then. In those days, Sky would show a repeat of its fights which had previously been shown on Box Office and that's where my dad taped it, or maybe it was the BBC (def watched Tyson v Lewis on that), I can't remember but anyway, seeing the monster get beat up and I do mean beat up, has lived long in the memory.

I still remember the right hands that snapped Tysons head straight back.

Oh hell yes. Maybe the greatest night of boxing of my life. I live in Atlanta and was at a sizeable get-together. When Holyfield started winning and knocked Mike down, it was ELECTRIC~
