I think there are like 9 American champions at the moment.
Americans are so used to greatness that they don't even boast about it. Other countries have 2 - 3 champions and they're already taking about takeovers. Americans fighters always seem to find their way on top.
now the election is over, and the united states has a president aiming to turn a great country back to its former glory, it is now just as important to work out how to turn american boxing back to its former glory. HAving previously been the superpower of boxing for many years, american fighters are not really known on the world stage any more or significant pound for pound attractions , with the upcoming kovalev v ward fight a symbol of this, with a lack of interest in a fight with arguably americas most highly rated fighter. In addition to this, the amateur sysem has fell behind many other countries, with the united states not winning a gold medal in 12 years. So how does america estabilsh itself as the dominant force in boxing once again? And why has its fortunes suffered in recent years?
