Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: Winner of Kovalev Fight Should Be P4P Number 1

According to Andre Ward, he and Sergey Kovalev are fighting for more than the IBF, WBA and WBO light heavyweight titles next week. Ward envisions the winner of their 12-round light heavyweight showdown November 19 in Las Vegas earning the No. 1 spot on the sport's subjective pound-for-pound lists.

Of course he would believe this....must be nice coming of five years from a significant win to beat a what 34 year old one division euro champ that only beat a active HOF that was 50 years of age.....hmmm....I get the feeling that if this been someone in another division they get laughed out the building.....LMAO now that I think about it.....both Ward and Kovalevs best opponents are retired well poor Bernard is stubborn but you get the point!

Won't get an argument from me. One of them deserve it.

Subjective list of course but I disagree. Lets see what Loma does against the axe man then lets revisit...

Exactly which fighters should be on these guys resume for u to concede Wards statement to be true? U might say Stevenson but money and promotional issues prevented that and u can't say ggg because he wanted no parts of Ward therefore it's not Wards fault. So which viable names are missing from their collective resumes?

No i disagree with this completely, and its another nauseatingly arrogant comment from ward. If you win you wont be my p4p number 1, because thats 1 top guy youve beaten in 5 years. Why should that automatically make you pound for pound number 1? Plenty of other guys in boxing have beaten a top name in the last 5 years too, what makes you so special...

It's obvious that if the winner between these two don't meet your standards for P4P then no one can.

Which inevitably makes your post simply another insurance policy in case Ward wins so u can continue to marginalize him by saying Kov was really a proped up champ, nice try 👍🏼

If you follow that line of reasoning GGG is the man because he claims that other fighters are ducking him.....thats not how P4P works...we can only give you credit for what you have done preferably by some relevant names not guys that been retired years ago.
