I can agree with that. He needs to let the belt go.You hold a title in a weight class so you don't get to pick and choose who you make weight for. Doesn't work like that unless you vacate.
Unless Brook can get a unification fight he has to face Spence or drop the belt. I don't think Brook is avoiding Spence but people being dismissive of the fight are as biased as the OP.Comment

Dude, especially after facing all those scrub mandatories. Now you have a mandatory with potential and you're on bs. If he doesn't fight Spence them screw him.He can make 147 for Garcia, Thurman, Khan, and Pacquiao. Surely he can make 147 for Spence.
. @MannyPacquiaoTR unification fight at 147. Yes please #2017

A unification against a massive name far outweighs a fight against a relative unknown who just happens to be the next American hype.
Pac-Brook is a great fight.Comment

All of that is irrelevant. If Spence wants the fight, he should be petitioning for the match to be made. The 90 days are irrelevant, the fight can easily be scheduled for any time in 2017.
So I'll ask again, has Spence been vocal with the IBF about wanting this fight? Have his team put forward a petition like Martinez did for Chavez Jr just as an example?Comment

For this long?Well he's the mandatory challenger for Brook's belt so I don't know how he can get a belt if the title holder doesn't wanna fight him. The IBF shouldn't sanction a unification fight until champions fight their mandatories especially if they kept them waiting this long, Brook fought a string of no hopers for 2 years claimning they were his mandatories, now Spence becomes the mandatory then Brook takes off his gloves and puts on a suit, that's not right. He should either fight Spence next or vacate, no more stalling.
Spence only just became mandatory in 2016.
Plus, like I said to the other guy, the ball is in Spence's court. He can petition for the match up and a possible purse bid. If Brook outright turns it down then the IBF will order a fight for the title which will thus be vacated. The IBF are pretty strict with regards to their mandatory match ups.
Yet I haven't heard Spence or his experienced manager try any such thing. Fights aren't made on twitter.Comment
