    Brinkley stopped in the 11th.

Jesse Brinkley was just stopped in the 11th round by a viscious body shot from Joe Spina. Brinkley was well ahead on the cards and controlling the fight before getting hit with a shot to the body that he was clearly not expecting or prepared for. If Brinkley hadn't come in looking soft he probably would have been able to take the shot and the fight. If the fight had been 10 rounds, like all of jesse's fights, he would have won with ease.

Brinkley looked very good up to that point, too.

there was nothing vicious about it, brinkley dominated in every way up until that point. it was rediculous, he even had extra recovery time due to the mouthpiece coming out. he bailed out,. pathetic. he was destroying spina. spina isn;'t the least bit impressive. he is wild and ****** and always off balance

It was a shame to see him go down like that after winning most of the fight. When the doctor came over to look at him after the 1st knockdown I pretty much knew it was over. He looked like he didn't want to fight anymore. Spina's nothing to be excited about either.

he was basically sweeping the cards, he could have danced and held his way to a ud. what a *****. he could have continued but chose not to, plus the spina hometown ref was very eager to jump in to stop it as well, at least let him go down again.

I cant imagine how much that punch would hurt when your not expecting it. E****ially when your soft like jesse was.
What the hell is he doing at 168?
Hes a small guy, but doesnt have the motivation to work to keep himself in shape and at the right weight.

sad to see brinkley go out like that after being ahead on the cards. but after getting hit with that shot all the fight went out of him like air leaving a popped tire.

spina wasn't all that impressive too, i give him credit for not getting discouraged and giving up. he fought through what ever adversity he was going through mentally and physically(claiming leg cramps and bad left hand).
but that body shot was right on the money. he nailed the floating rib on brinkley, right where there is no protection from any muscle, the only thing that can block that is either with you arms or getting out of the way of it. it was a good shot. it was spina's only chance at winning.
