Wow didn't know Stephen A Smith was added to the analyst team for the Pacquiao fight!

Lmfao *gets popcorn ready* this is gonna be either hilariously embarrassing or extremely funny to hearing him say something wild!

SAS is very entertaining and gets paid to "say stuff and provide some theatrics!

Would be good if Pac wins and he interviews him and asks,"So Manny how come you didn't fight Floyd"Money TBE" Mayweather like that? Was you nervous? I think you learned a valuable lesson at the school of Floyd Mayweather Jr. perhaps".

I can see him losing it if someone gets KO'd or a war breaks out and he starts overwhelming Bradley and Brian Kenny lol

Nah it's still PPV. HBO wanted it at a different date because the Nov. 5 date was too close to the Ward/Kovalev PPV, and Arum wouldn't change it. So HBO passed.

Ole Bob then decided to do the PPV himself as a Top Rank production.

Haven't watched first take in a while but hearing Stephan A. talk boxing was nails on a chalkboard bad.
Wasn't going to buy the Pac fight anyway but if I was on the fence hearing he is part of the broadcast would say me toward a no.

Comes off pretentious, but that's cuz he don't know about the sport.

As for more people tuning in argument, if people like Haymon or Eddie Hearn can have/build "promotional fan basis" where people watch the show due to "who is promoting?" rather "who is fighting?" then nothing surprises me.

I will take Col. Bob Sheridan or Jim Watt over him.

For me it has nothing to do with him being casual and everything to do with Smith being an awful, awful TV personality. Loud, ******, insulting, and always quick to make everything about race.

He usually defers to Max on boxing issues because he knows his lane. I think it's possible he will be more reserved and ride the coat tails of the other ring announcers.
