Marquez beat Pacquiao for size, he was always taller, think he had a longer reach too. Plus it was largely accepted that JMM had beaten him the last time Pac had faced him at welterweight. Plus it was widely acknowledged by the time that Pacquiao was no longer as fearsome.
it's a great win and currently the best win of this decade but if Canelo can beat a guy who is bigger, longer, hits harder and breaks bones by KO, especially a dominant KO, then I don't see how it's not a bigger or better win.
I know GGG isn't Pacquiao but dimensions are important. The 3 best wins of the decade so far have to be:
JMM over Pac
Fury over Wlad
May over Pac
At the very least, a KO of GGG sends Canelo over the bottom 2.Comment

It would be a big win but not make him an ATG. To become an atg you have to be great in your own era. That means ducking nobody, fighting the best at there best when the opportunity is there, and be dominating over the guys you fought. There are certain exceptions, mainly to the dominating criterion.Comment
