    Why Golovkin doesn't get respect

He's been at 160 since the stone age...and he's 35 now. Refuses to consider 168.

Only uses power to win fights. This bugs me as I tend to root for the underdog. I can't help not being impressed with someone who doesn't have more to his arsenal. No defense, no head movement, no speed, no high tempo cardio. A jab against weaker guys, hunting someone down and cornering them knowing they cant hurt you doesn't impress me. It just doesn't. Prefer to see a rigondeoux or Mayweather who uses skills to play this game.

Relentlessly trying to fight a junior middleweight instead of looking at 168 for glory. A number of fighters get **** for seeking out smaller fighters, Golovkin should as well.

Tried to quietly avoid Ward...but I'm not letting that move slide and here to remind people of it. Anyone who knows boxing will conclude that Golovkins power would be neutralized and the big drama show would be provided by Ward as Golovkin doesn't have any solid skill set besides his power, which isn't a skill.

Thinks he's a bigger star than he actually is. I once thought this guy had a huge following and was excited I had a boxer to talk about with the casuals, since I don't know any hardcore boxing fans...then 97k happened.

Thats the truth, thats why a lot of people aren't sold on him.

I like fighters who stay in their natural division more than guys who hop around opportunistically. It seems the "Broner method to ATGness" only exists on this forum, but you guys are big fans of repeating each other.

Factor in 168 being an abandoned wasteland with names like Badou Jack at the top of the heap and the situation becomes pretty transparent. People won't consider him "tested" until he loses via insurmountable size disadvantage, sans any context.

Only uses power to win fights.
Doesn't seem like you've watched many of his fights.

Guys, before you get angry and hit me with your purse to protect your man, try and be open minded and analyze, think about what I wrote. Too many of us feel this way.

I'm just the messenger, being honest on how I see the Golovkin situation. Golovkin himself is a great dude who carries himself with respect. I'm just telling you guys why most of us don't buy the hype.

we should be ashamed for asking a fighter to go up or down a few pounds for once in his career...

I sort of understand people wanting him to move up to 168. But my question is, why? 168 is as crap as 160 and are there any guarantees of those guys there fighting him?
