Why have you referenced Canelo's fight with Floyd from over 3 years ago, when he was a kid who had nothing to lose and everything to gain?

It's moronic to do direct comparisons when the circumstances are so different.

Canelo is NOT Floyd.

Without a big named opponent he doesn't do huge numbers.

Yes, he deserves the bigger split. There's no doubt about that. But his fight against Cotto did almost $60m, and this could do significantly more. Now since he can't make as much money fighting anyone else, it's only fair that Oscar sits down to reach a compromise.

Forget about who did what in the past, and instead concentrate on what's happening right now.

This fight can do anything between $60-80m, and possibly more.

A flat fee is BS, and anyone who's knowledgeable and objective knows it.

In boxing (PPV) terms, that is exactly what GGG is.....

* never had a truly meaningful fight
* desperately trying to establish himself as a PPV fighter

You're only looking from one perspective.

Fighting GG gives Canelo more money than fighting 3 guys who aren't big names.

Go and look at his purses and the PPV numbers with Angulo, Lara and Smith etc.

They both need each other.


Of course GG beating BJS and Jacobs would give him more leverage. If GG beats them it gives him every belt in the division and it takes BJS and Jacobs out of the equation. Who on earth would Canelo fight at MW, if GG had beaten them and held all of the belts? Canelo's options would be severely limited, and sooner or later he'd have to fight him.

Golovkin didn't call Ward's " bluff "..... he didn't call Lara's "bluff"..... and he won't call Jacobs/Saunders "bluff" by offering them decent money either

They both had bad year Khan and smith, vs Wade and Brook lol,Brook is decent but jumped 2 weight classes ,as is Khan but he jumped too,But canelo had some good fights allready like Lara,Trout,Cotto, Golovkin had none,its a fact not hate.
