Unfortunately money has always been a big issue especially these days, and it can make or break fights.

But spending so much time worrying about money is just a way for fans to defend their favorite fighter who is ducking or to criticize a fighter they don't like and call that fighter a ducker.

As a fan, I just want the best to fight the best can get paid well for it. Boxers have too many options and we don't have the same kind of issues in other regulated sports.

Two ways to look at this:

1. I have no problem with Jacobs getting 40% to fight Golovkin.


2. If Jacobs wants to be a "star", he should take the offer as this is a great opportunity to really make a name for himself. Imagine the possibilities if he derails the Golovkin train. He's not a star yet so holding out for more money will not help his case.

Personally, I don't think Jacobs has the confidence he can beat Golovkin, same as Quillin didn't.

Because you get paid according to what you can sell, or the power you have. Without Haymon, that would be their purse max... they are not even world champions.
