Oscar is right so schafer can go *** himself.

Ive been watching boxing for 20 years and yes, 2016 was the worst year for boxing as far as i can remember.

Majority of you little kids havent been into boxing for long so ya probably dont realize it, but for a fact every year the quality of matchups have been going down.

Even in the early 2000s, i always used to look forward to watching fights on HbO, hbo bad etc but nowadays, it is hard to get up for fights. That intrigue and anticipation for a big fight isnt there anymore.

Boxing isnt what it used to be and that is the truth.

Oscar is a moron. I don't have a hard time believing that he's one of the dumbest person Bob Arum's encountered. He's the sort of naive twat that believes agreeing with people will score points with them down the stretch. Anyone with sense wouldn't crap over a product they helped to create.
That has to be one of the most ridiculous comments that have ever been said on any forum ever. You think boxing is failing right now and 2016 was one of the worst years because promoters arent putting on crap fights and calling them the best?!?!?!?! That is exactly what has gotten boxing to this point in the first place. People tune in to see the best fight the best. Al haymon got hundreds of millions and squandered almost all of it simply for that exact reason, he put on mismatches and boring fights andnobody tuned in. The only fights that got decent ratings were when the best were fighting the best aka santa cruz frampton thurman porter ect ect. Why do you think haymon settled and is now finally putting on fights with top rank? Its because arum knows how to promote boxing by putting on the tough fights which is something it took squandering hundreds of millions for al haymon to hopefully realize. Seriously what planet are you from you are either a troll or an alien with such a dumb comment like that and im usually very respectful of peoples opinions

You for real? You think the guy responsible for the duck of the millenium has any right at all to criticise the state of boxing in 2017?

This guy, responsible for the Canelo-Golovkin fight not happening, has the right to say anything about the best fights not being made?

        GTFO!

For the stable of fighters Haymon has, he has done a mediocre job at best! 2016 was not a good year for PBC. For those of you who supports the PBC brand, please tell me why is it difficult to make competitive fights between PBC fighters? NO promoter getting in the way, no network problems, so why are the fights not being made? Over 200 fighters under one banner! I can understand why Oscar is salty but he needs to move on && build GBP back up.
From Haymon we got Santa Cruz vs Frampton, Lara vs Maritotysan, Charlo vs Trout, Charlo vs Jackson, Thurman vs Porter, Spence vs Algieri, Provodnikov vs Molina, and would have had Spence vs Brook and Wilder vs Povetkin had Brook and Povetkin not ducked/tested positive.

We are still having Charlo vs J-rock on december 10th as well.

Now tell me how man good match-ups oscarina has presented us with this year?

Why do we think Haymon is making fights with Arum again? Certainly not the crappy, convulated reason you just gave.

First of all, it was Arum and HBO who were not willing to do business with Arum, not the other way around.

Secondly, Arum is the one who called for a sit down with Haymon to save his own as because HBO has cut their budget for boxing and that is causing Arum and co to suffer, HBO refusing to broadcast the Manny Pacquiao ppv was the final string that broke the camel's back.

Stop spewing **** here! We know what really happened and how it happened. You aint fooling no one.

LMAO at all the scrubs in here talking about Oscar is right.

He controls the biggest star currently in boxing, and what did he give us this year?

Two crappy mismatches with Khan and Smith on PPV.

He is a large contribution factor to what is going on in boxing, and especially after all that crap he was talking about Floyd. He is a hypocrite.

This could have been a great year if the big important fights would have happened. At least in the heavyweight division this could have been a great year if Povetkin vs. Wilder would habe happened and Fury vs. Wlad 2 or Wlad vs. Joshua. Without a doubt, the potential of a great years was there but it has been wasted....not just in the heavyweight division. Al Haymon is hurting boxing more than anything else!
But the year is not over yet, we still have Kovalev vs. Ward and you cant get a mutch better more interesting match-up than that!
