That's usually how it works. Yes, you can make more if you hold out, but that also risks the fight disappearing in front of your eyes. Fighter after fighter has had to do this in the history of boxing. Why the **** is GGG so special? And he'd be the favorite. Win, then get the major major bucks in the rematch. Is it fair, no, but WTF else id he gonna do? Continue to hold out, then they take the deal off the table, and can then use the excuse of GGG proving himself out as a valid excuse, and us fans won't be able to do a damn thing about it, and neither will GGG, or his team.

That's why you do it, genius.
      1. Again, nobody accepts a flat fee a year out, from a fight that's one of the most highly anticipated fights in boxing, that would gross millions in PPV.

Give me one example of anyone who's done that, genius.

No businessman would accept those terms for their fighter.

      2. Nobody can guarantee there'd be a rematch.

      3. Canelo's options are severely limited at MW. There's only 2 belt holders left, and GG is about to face one of them. Unless either of them lose, once Jacobs and BJS have been taken out of the equation, there would be no other belts left to fight for, and no big money fights at the weight which would be relevant. Yes, GG could lose to Jacobs, just like Canelo could lose to BJS if they were to fight. Nothing is guaranteed. But both guys obviously feel supremely confident in themselves, and if GG could add another belt, or even both of them, it would give him more leverage.

The main thing to focus on here, is that Oscar's offer is obviously not genuine. Because if he was serious about the fight, he would offer a fair percentage, and it would be done face to face, privately. The offer that he's just released is bogus and has only been designed to fool guys like yourself. The fact that the contract isn't even until September, 2017, is absolutely laughable.

Pretty big if. Vargas never rematched Trinidad. Oscar knows this fight is career shortening. Would they wanna shorten it double?
How much did Floyd offer Pac?

How much was Pac making at the time?

Was Pac a PPV fighter on his own?

How much did Canelo offer GGG?

How much is Canelo making without GGG?

How much is GGG making on his own?

          Does Canelo fight on PPV?

Cotto-Canelo did 900,000 because it was Cotto fighting Canelo.

There are a lot of people that still don't know who Golovkin is.

Eddie Hearn and Matchroom have confirmed that Brook came in at the last moment and signed the exact terms that Eubank was offered.

That is changing with each fight.
