Funny how ggg and his team are saying Canelo is scared and trying to use that as a business tactic to get Canelo to offer more than what has already been offered. STFU and sign ad get the fight on. Ggg you probably won't ever make another 8 figure payday being that you damn near 35 now. It's even funnier how ggg fans are eating all of team ggg Bulls.hit too lol. Clowns like ggg team

A 40 or 30% cut gonna land ggg a higher purse than a flat fee..

Unless they offer 13 mil+ flat fee
****** Mother Phuker last year was the weight no 155 lbs (which I agree) but now that the weight is out of the picture now is money...... last year I was in GGG team on this issue. this year.....he is turning into a diva who has proved nothing yet. I said to Canelo BIG F***em and go separate ways if he don't accept the B side like Canelo did with Mayweather, Cotto to earn his place.

I don't understand half you say, but all I'm saying is ggg should get a split instead of a flat fee...

I don't see how anyone can debate this, as every fighter ever always took a split in a huge fight, let alone biggest fight of the year

I agree on a split, both guys have to be paid well, but in truthland, if GBP doesn't want to give more, GGG will have to take what it takes to make the fight.

Anyways none of this has to do with ggg getting a split or not..
It would be extremely foolish to take a flat fee unless it was some absurd amount like 20 mil..
At 10 million, ggg would most likely make more with a purse split unless it's a huge flop which it won't be.. it probably doesn't do 900k but will break 600k and most likely 700k.. if canelo-khan did 600k and the canelo-cotto fight did 850k. I suspect it will fall somewhere inbetween..

No one but ****** fanboys are claiming ggg the A-side.. canelo clearly is, but that shouldn't mean ggg has to take flat fee.. 67/33 seems fair.. 2/3s canelo, 1/3 to ggg...
Not to be too vulgar, but Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is sitting at the negotiating table with the long ****, not Golovkin. Alvarez is offering the fight at $10m (with K2 likely also getting the Germany/Europe TV rights to the fight), and if that's not enough for Golovkin, Alvarez seems more than ready to move on to other options [Split the difference on your range and you hit 725k PPV buys which, @$65, gets you to clearing about $24m. Add the site fee from Jerry Jones and you're likely talking about $30m before the international money gets added in, a near 50/50 share of the take for Alvarez and Golovkin].

A check-the-weight fight in February, the WBO title fight against Saunders in May [PPV], the Cotto rematch in September [PPV], and then working through the WBO rated fighters (David Lemieux, Willie Monroe Jr, Curtis Stevens, Hassan Ndam, Chris Eubank Jr, Warren's Tommy Langford, Arum's Ryota Murata, and DiBella's Avtandil Khursidze are all rated in the WBO's top 15) until Golovkin sees what his position is or Golovkin gets beat (with Alvarez's attentions turning to the person who beat him, unless Haymon/Oscar politics get in the way).

Golovkin doesn't do a third of the business that Alvarez does, so why should he get a third?

It's a hardball tactic, but Alvarez has the fights in his cue to go another two years without having to look Golovkin's way and concede anything else.

I doubt that Golovkin has such time on his hand.

Alvarez is giving Golovkin the six pounds, Alvarez has likely given Golovkin the European TV rights to the fight in the package, and it doesn't seem like Alvarez even bothered with chasing down gloves shenanigans (though he probably should), among other things.

if a package that's worth $10m+ isn't enough added benefit to want the fight,so be it. Have fun moving on to other fights

Also, a promoter generally takes the upside on the fight being promoted; a fighter's fee is likely spelled out in a deal (beyond the guaranteed purse, there are know doubt a multitude of other terms settled), but with the promoter taking the downside risk on the fight, they should logically be entitled to upside.

"they get their cut from the fighter's purse" only makes sense in the example where some other promoter is taking the lead and the secondary promoter receives a fee (of which id divvyed up with the fighter, per the terms of the promotional agreement.

GGG should take the "short money", if thats what 10 million is these days, and FINALLY fight a winner. If he wins he is the man and can dictate terms.

Team GGG needs to think bigger picture on this one. Time is not on their side

numerous fighters/trainers have said the same thing

if Golovkin will not accept 10mil for an opportunity to establish himself as a superstar, he NEVER will
