That's not the way I remember that playing out. I though Canelo offered 152 and Mayweather took it. I never got that it was a demand from Mayweather or the fight wouldn't happen. Regardless, I think they are throwing this around to gauge interest. Especially if Canelo fights GGG and wins, you can guarantee that a Mayweather-Canelo fight will generate tons of money and interest. Maybe to the degree to lure FM out of retirement. You remember wrong. Canelo offered 150 in 2011. In 2013 he didn't have a prayer of making 150, this is what he was saying then:
