people are always going on about how good he is, people think he'd dominate golovkin too. And dominate kell brook. Dont get where people are getting this opinions from? Guys never fought at middleweight and would be a fairbit smaller than lemiuex, and people are making out like its a crazy mismatch cause laras such an amazing fighter (despite smaller fighters like angulo putting him on his pants)

Angulo may not be rated very highly but at one point he was a threat, and he has the power to stop anyone, there is no shame in getting dropped by a shot from Angulo.

It depends on what you say by "slick"
There are two different types of slick styles, one is a pot shotter where the jab is consistent and two is where the south paw stance where they circle around the ring and solely depend on the straight left hand yet not enough jabs to keep a fighter off, Floyd is the former and the thing about Lara is he is the latter.

If we go by the Triangle Theory stylistic wise, It is always Pressure Fighter>Slick Boxer, Brawler>Pressure Fighter, Slick Boxer>Brawlers, Pressure fighters know how to cut of the ring and counter a slick boxer trying to pivot out of the way like we saw against GGG on Monroe, even though monroe is only B class and a greater example is Maidana against gloyd where Floyd is A+ But Maidana is B where Maidana catches floyd with left hooks on the face and body from time to time as Floyd tried to pivot out from the corner, we can see how slick boxers tend get the wrong end against Pressure fighters but is great against Brawlers, for they rely fighters who opens up too much which brawlers are, while Brawlers absolutely eats pressure fighters for eating them up in exchanges as the pressure fighters are trying to go forward.

While Pressure fighters rely on slow work rate from boxers to do their job, cutting off the ring and picking there shots, and Lara is the epitome of this Slow work rate boxer. Lara has low work rate, and has a good jab but not great, but has a stinging straight left hand. And he Lara every time he tries to use the straight left he always drops his right hand which would be suicidal against Golovkin, because he would be eating left hooks like we saw he he dropped his right hand against Angulo which Angulo captizalizes.
So in that matter stylistically Golovkin has the advantages.

We should forget all hypothetical scenarios. Let's just go what we know about both fighters and accuracy. People seem to forget that timed shots cause more damage..

Golovkin: Times his shots, sets himself in place, fires...accurate.
Lara: Times his shots, sets himself in place, fires....acurate.

They are both technical fighters. The reality is that Lara has a serious work rate and knows how to control the ring being followed. He'll pot shot just to not allow his opponent setup into position! Golovkin can only intimidate that works well for him, but Lara's reach he has never faced against that can pot shot causing Golovkin to hardly get into position...Lara's jab range control is what this is all about. Lara can tame a lion.

For those saying Angulo is slow, Angulo is just as fast if not faster that GGG in his performance against Lara. Lastly, it's very immature to think that Lara's power won't increase proportionally like ATG power. At 160 acclimated, Lara will hit harder than he does at 154. Harder than Monroe Jr. or Brook....most likely...

Wrong, Angulo is the slowest man in the world and even the most Hardcore Lara fans know that GGG is lightyears faster than Angulo. We all know how devestating Lara's straight left is, but we saw in the Monroe fight that GGG can cut off the ring against Slick boxers and wont follow them. Lara is known to drop his right hand whenever he tries to fire his left, and in the monroe fight GGG was able to defend himself from his straight left all awhile timing him with his left hook whenever he drops the right hand.

And who has the best left hook in the game? Yep that's right, Andre Ward and GGG. Which would be devastating against Lara.

Golovkin would not be trying to walk through Lara like he did against Monroe and Brook, he will be catious against him, which he would show more head movement, like in the Lemieux fight and stevens and try to box and corner Lara.
