This should come as no surprize. Tito was a cheater.Did anyone see the Hopkins Trinadad ppv when Tito was forced to re wrap his hands becuae he essentialy had formed a cast by dipping his tape hands in water . After this , his hand wrapping was closely monitored and he has never been the same puncher since. HE KOed Mayo because mayo ******ly let TITO hit him several times in the face. Any good fighter would have had the same results.

If you think Oscar hits harder than Tito you gotta get your eyes checked.

And hey Tito was the first one to legitamitely beat Whitaker.

I don't think Oscar hits harder than Tito.

He may hit sharper, and the hooks that Oscar threw that Mayorga didn't see coming may have felt harder, but I don't think Delahoya carries the same raw power Tito does.

I also believe that is the case. Just like tito ruined Vargas punch resistance. Both of those fighter fought DLH after taking brutal punishment from trinidad which had to have lasting affects on them both. He could also be saying that because he was dropped in the 1st round.

He's known for having a good chin and it would not go in his favor if he was to say that tito hits harder after getting belted in the 1st. There's no doubt tito has the stronger punch...DLH is just quicker and smokey didn't see it coming.

It may have felt harder because of the speed of DLH and Mayo couldn't role with the punches, or how accurate DLH was. I don't want to take anything away from DLH, it was a really good performance.

I have to give it to Mayo though, he went out swinging (literally) and apologized to DLH right after. He didn't stick around after the fight but I wasn't surprised and I don't blame him, I wouldn't want to deal with Merchant...ever. And then he comes out, he's is honest and doesn't make excuses.

I am sorry but Oscars left hook is pure dynamite. Everytime I have seen him land that punch flush he hurts the other guy bad or puts him on his ass. The only fighter I seen take it clean with out any effect was Shane Mosely but you could smash Shanes face with a sledge hammer and it wouldnt have any effect.

                Few things wrong with this...

                1) DLH dropped Mayorga quicker because Mayorga didn't see the punches coming. Anybody into boxing will tell you it's the punches you don't see coming that hurt/drop you. Therefore, DLH is FASTER than Trinidad but I highly doubt he hits harder.

                2) Mayorga was destroyed by Trinidad before DLH got to him. Same situation with Vargas. DLH knocked them both out quicker because they were done after the Trinidad whoopings they got.

                3) Vargas would have said the same if he thought DLH hit harder. He said no such thing.

                  trinidad is a career killer
he basically ****ed up and broke 2 dudes named vargas and reid both who had very bright futures but were allowed to fight trinidad way too early into their careers

it aint crazy to think he might have wrecked mayorga pretty good for dlh and mayorga might not take punches so well after the trinidad fight

i dont think oscar wouldve knocked joppy out like trinidad did although thats 5 or so years ago now

I could believe that Oscar hit Mayorga harder than Tito did:

When Tito came back he didn't seem to have the balance nor the Pop in his punches...maybe his power was not all the way back because of the layoff...I know people say that power never leaves you, but I do think it can deplete from non-use...Balance is part of Power...for someone like Tito, who never had the greatest ability of balance, it takes time to get back, unlike someone like Oscar who has great technique/balance.

the way i said it makes it sound like they fought those ppl first and then 30minutes later they fought de la hoya.no can be destroyed for years
