Nobody at 168 really excites me, and nobody brings a big fight to ggg..

Maybe if ward n froch were still around at 168...

Maybe if the jack/degale fight takes place and winner looks good or if Ramirez could get healthy n active but none of those fights are bigger than ggg vs canelo, Jacobs, Saunders even Eubanks jr...

Ideally would like golovkin to handle business over the next year with Jacobs, canelo, Saunders and then go to 168 in 2018..

Regardless ggg is a few title defenses from breaking records.. why bump up for average payday vs the non drawing 168 guys.. let the 168 guys build themselves up in 2017 and let ggg clean out middleweight.. then in 2018 we could have some huge fights when ggg bumps up vs degale/jack, Ramirez

Would you agree that Groves or DeGale are the equivalents to Chavez Jr. at 168 at either Wembley or the 02?

Surely most would agree that skillwise, Groves or DeGale are better match ups than Chavez Jr. at 168 now or even before. They say Chavez Jr. ducked Golovkin at 168.

Are Golovkin fans siding with the idea that a money fight with Chavez Jr. is a better test than Groves or DeGale?

So you're saying Abel meant beat Hopkins' record first before fighting Froch or Chavez Jr. at 168?

That fight will happen, but not in 2017. Unless Loeffler shocks the world and agrees to Aside bidness. Abel won't let that happen.

Not sure what Abel said,,, I usually ignore trainers as they are no better than promoters at saying BS..

Would have loved to seen ggg bump up for those fights as those are big money high profile fights

But Ramirez jack n degale bring nowhere near the money or visibility of froch or Chavez jr...

Like I said.. 2017 let ggg handle business at 160 and let 168 guys emerge as legit draws...
Right now it makes zero sense bumping up for guys that couldn't outdraw a Saunders or Jacobs or even Eubanks fight...

I'm not trying to "protect " ggg, but no sense in bumping up now to fight nobodies when you're on the verge of historic title defenses and major money fights with canelo, Saunders Jacobs...

The biggest fight possible at 168 wouldn't pay nowhere near what a Saunders, Jacobs, Eubanks fight would pay..

If degale can beat jack in a good fashion, that's about the only 168 guy that could bring a big payday... but let degale beat jack before we start clamoring for that fight

He wants a big money fight with Canelo. He won't get 10 million fighting anyone else and he knows it. Problem is, this fight could have already happened earlier this year had Canelo not pulled the crap he did. Now if Golovkin wants the big money, he has to stick around at 160 because it wouldn't be wise to go back to down to 160 after fighting at 168 at his age. We've seen the potential ramifications of weight jumping.

I have no problem with him moving up to fight Degale, Jack, Groves, Ramirez, etc. But if he's gonna do it, it should be now and not in late 2017 early 2018.

Money-wise, Groves and Degale would be bigger, for sure. British boxing is going through a renaissance. They flocked in droves to see Kell Brook get sacrificed to a Kazak.
No one believes in Chavez Jr anymore and he's no longer a big paycheck.

                      Degale
                      Groves
                      Smith

Does not do better than Brook at the 02? Didn't Loeffler and Abel say that any fight 168 that brings propah money is worth the jump and then come back down?

Didn't Loeffler say, ''Gennady sold out London in 11 minutes..'' not, ''He and Brook sold it'' but ''Gennady sold out London in 11 minutes...''

If that's the case, how fast would DeGale, Groves or Smith sell in the UK?

                      We've got 3 top 10 Brits at 168.

This is the last bastion for Gennady to achieve greatness. Cause I assure you in 2018, Alvarez is going to knock out Gennady one way or another, and if they want to come back with strong negotiating bidness then place your bets folks, cause Gennady can be a 2 division Champ come negotiating with GBP.

getting tired of this over protective shıt

                      2. Moving up doesn't equal greatness.
                      3. JAcobs and Canelo at 160 are much better than any of those fights.
                      4. Stop starting all threads, they suck
