Calzaghe himself admitted that was his toughest fight because Hopkins was so awkward. Ward and Hopkins dont have the same fighting style but Ward is similar in that he can be very awkward stylistically.

Calzaghe is all about throwing flurries, punch-output and work rate. I think Ward would smother and spoil Calzaghe's work and at the same time get his own shots off.
I'm not so sure. Like I said I can't make a definite call, but I think we can agree it'd be a really interesting fight.

I don't see anything but a Ward shutout. Can't for the life of me see it being competitive.
Wards levels above Joe and all wrong for him.

Honestly Ward toys with him. Any version 168 or 175.

I agree, Ward beats Calzaghe 10 out of 10.

Not sure about Ward toying with Calzaghe, but I think he wins a pretty wide decision.

Calzaghe too busy which would negate Ward's more considered approach.

            Ward v Calzaghe

Ward is no Jeff Lacey - imagine what he would have done to Lacey!
No, Ward is elite and "No rematch Joe" wouldn't have given Andre any problems. Joe would have been bewitched, bothered and bewildered.

Calzaghe like all volume punchers output will drop considerably vs a boxer who has a great ring I Q, fantastic variety of faints and jab Ward possesses just like it did vs an ancient gunshy B-Hop.

He absolutely wouldn't be throwing 100 slaps a round like he did vs static and robotic fighters against Ward. And IF he did he'd get countered senseless.
He'd negate the hell out of Joe.

              10-2 type fight

                I agree with this post.

calzaghe is a level above ward. Dont know if people have got carried away with the ward hype with his november fight coming up, cause we had this thread a couple of months ago and calzaghe was ahead on the poll (as he rightfully should be)

the mutual opponent kessler, says calzaghe was the best guy he fought. Seems strange that ward would outclass calzaghe like you all say so, guess you must know more than kessler.

did his punch output really lower that much against hopkins? He landed more shots on hopkins than any other fighter did in hopkins whole career...
