At the ongoing WBO convention in Puerto Rico, Saunders was ordered - because of his inactivity since last year - to make two mandatory defenses of his title.
The WBO is willing to count Canelo, should he move up in weight, as one of those mandatory obligations.
"That's why in the WBO we are making this effort to ensure that Canelo will be able to fight at 160 pounds with our champion Billy Joe Saunders," Valcarcel said.
BJS: Frank, I don't know who to select..... how much did Golovkin offer again?
Warren: he offered 1.5
BJS: 1.5 what ?

I'll take what does one have to do with the other for 500 Alex. But good to see the WBO is working for Canelo. Smh boxing.

I think you're right. There's no other justification for him giving up his belt and avoiding Golovkin. It could be that Oscar is protecting his interest (Canelo) and looking for the big payday but it's pretty obvious that team Alvarez wants no part of GGG just yet. Canelo is young and has time for Golovkin to age so why put himself at risk now.

Canelo OFFERED 10mil, and lil'G REFUSED 10mil.
fans of the guy who REFUSED do not get to insinuate that the offer was a bluff
if you wanna see the cards, then you gotta call
Canelo moved on the weight, because lil'G refused to fight him at 155..... and then lil'G refused to fight him for 10mil
you can spin that however you want LMAO

Valcarcel is old/experienced, so he can likely see whats up.
Canelo is the future !
If Canelo were to move to 160 and win that WBO title, then he will defend that title against any/all comers..... just like he did at JMW.
Canelo fought the 4 best JMW's CONSECUTIVELY, including the best fighter on the planet, and then he fought Kirkland/Cotto
Valcarcel is smart, so he can likely see what Team Golovkin are doing.
Canelo has far more upside than Golovkin.
I'm not saying that is right..... I am saying, that is understandable..... given the political nature of this sport.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I was quite vocal about that aspect of the game when Pac was doing his thing..... like when the WBC rolled out the red carpet for Pac by ranking Margarito #1 at 154 and then sanctioning that fight at catchweight (unlike their stance at 160 with GGG/Canelo LMAO) but strangely, very few posters agreed with me at that point in time..... YOU being one of them
You were happy to support that corruption, simply because it benefited YOUR guy..... too late to cry about it now.

you can spin your schoolboy stories all you want, but adult observers are well-aware that the WBC gave Canelo 15 days to negotiate with a bunch of lying manipulating hype-jobs..... so they were pretty dumb
Seriously, you dumb ****..... how many mega-fights get made in 15 days?
how is it even possible to negotiate a fight in 15 days by negotiating with a team of asshat's who over-rate their worth?
Kell Book is the only opponent who Canelo could have signed in 15 days LOOOOOOOOOOL
Hypekin then had the opportunity to fight Canelo for the SECOND time but he PASSED, for the SECOND time
