Ginger is the cash cow of boxing right now

he has plenty of options, excluding Pac and GGG, anyone else from 147 to 160 would line up for that payday. He can make plenty of moolah without GGG

people who think Canelo truly needs GGG are delusional, he could fight a couple more Liam Smiths and make about the same $$$ hed make against GGG, with much more ease

Im a GGG fan but his team needs to realize the fact that Canelo is the A-side and GGG is the b-side by a long shot

only after he beats Canelo he will be able to dictate the term

Canelo needs GGG doe. Otherwise, the ducking label will forever be etched on his forehead. There's no way around it.

duck label or not, millions of casuals who dont give a **** about GGG or dont even know who he is, will still pay to watch Canelos fights

he could take the Danny Garcia path and fight bums for eternity and still make big $$$$

he doesnt need GGG, at least financially wise

And who else can Canelo fight for 50-60 million?

It's not about the 10 mill, its about the revenue the fight generates (100-150 mill.) I think ggg and his team would be very ****** if only take 10.

Golovkin vs Canelo would be the biggest fight next year. It would catapult the sport again to new heights. It's a 50/50 fight for me and I would root for Canelo, believe it or not.

Accepting any split for a fight at least a year away, considering all that can change in that time, would be ****ing idiotic considering the potential changes in negotiating leverage Golovkin might have.

Give me a ****ing break with this crap, seriously.
Their situations have virtually been the same for the last year or so. Furthermore, didnt Ward and Kovalev do THE EXACT SAME THING??? Granted that deal was for 50/50 but it was also contingent on if both fighters won. In the end, Golovkin and his team talking up a 50/50 split is laughable, i dont mind they negotiatie but if thats where they are coming in, then thats basically a non starter.

Ward and Kovalev had some sort of agreement that they would fight, but the specifics were never agreed upon. Remember all the talk about the venue and all that after their previous fights, which people jumped on as "proof" Ward would duck?

The only non-starter here is that Alvarez and Golden Boy are showing no good faith that they actually want the fight. They dropped a belt, delayed the fight at least a year, and offered a flat fee for one of the biggest fights in boxing. Any "negotiations" about the purses going on right now are posturing by both sides. One side wants the fight right now, the other maybe wants it in September next year. Pretty obvious what the hold up is.
