I don't think one respectable or knowledgable fan or pundit would conclude that Norris wasn't a great fighter. He was p4p top 3 for 2-3 years.
    See what I mean?

I never said Terry Norris is an ATG, I said he is an ATG 154lbers, which he undeniably is either the best or the 2nd best after Mike McCallum.

For some reason though, he just doesn't want to admit that Terry Norris was a great fighter.

Nobody is claiming Terry was perfect. His chin was definitely a liability, but the only fighters in his prime that tested that were Julian Jackson, and Simon Brown... who for people that weren't paying attention back then was a 3 time world champion with a 75% KO's on his record when they fought. Not exactly a light hitter.

And He went on to avenge the Brown loss not just in a close fight. He put on one of the great masterclasses of his career in the rematch.

I don't think any respectable person would say he is a great fighter.

So what? Being a P4P fighter for a few years makes you a great fighter?

      Norris was far from great.

Very good, yes. Talented, yes. Great? No.

You did say he was an ATG or atleast implied it.

He wasn't a great fighter. Simple as that.

You're glorifying the fact that he went 1-1 with Simon Brown who whilst was a good fighter wasn't elite and wasn't even a Jr Middleweight either.

So what makes someone a great fighter in your book?

Tell me some fighters you could consider great, can be past or present. For the sake of argument - don't list the obvious one's, list what you would consider borderline great.

I would consider myself pretty respectable lol. But for argument sake here is a pretty respectable person, and a pretty balanced summary/view, who probably has access to a lot more facts, information, than you and I.

I think its pretty clear at this point that he has no concept of what a great fighter is. Or he has dug himself so deep into claiming that Terry isn't great that as he sees evidence to the contrary, he is unwilling to admit that he was mistaken in his assessment of him.

I can already tell you that he doesn't consider James Toney great, because he didn't come in shape all the time.

I think his definition of great is "your name starts with Floyd and ends with Mayweather" "you have to go around chanting hard work dedication" etc...

His definition of 'Great' certainly seems to vary from mine. That doesn't mean Toney wasn't great, he just didn't have great discipline or consistency.

But he was a great fighter - he beat a Prime McCallum and an undefeated prime Nunn. Only a great fighter could beat those guys, and nothing short of a great fighter could beat Floyd Mayweather, even if he was a natural 154lber.

You're asking me who I'd consider a boarderline great fighter I.e not great but close to it?

Erm, I don't know that's a difficult question. Tony Zale maybe.

                      If you want me to list great fighters then I can;

Mayweather, Pacquaio, Hopkins, Roy Jones, Holyfield, Morales, Leonard, Duran, Hearns (no order) there's a list of modern day great fighters.

                      Norris? No.
