    25% is fair.

    Jacobs doesnt really have leverage...

    Its GGG.

GGG is the best 160 pounder on the planet.

    that means something.

although if 30% will get the fight done, i say GGG needs to do it. he needs a legit notable name on his resume if he wants some leverage in a canelo negotiating battle.

this fight with jacobs does it....

give the man his 30% if that is what it takes to get the fight done ffs...

      I would agree.

I think what's happening here is that there is a false equivalence. People are under the impression that Golovkin and Jacobs are close to each other in terms of profile and drawing power and that's just not the case, it's not even close. Golovkin is worth way more in a Canelo fight, than Jacobs is worth in a Golovkin fight.

The Canelo vs. GGG fight is the only fight in boxing right now that can even approach 1M buys. Unless Canelo rematches Mayweather or fights Pacquiao or fights McGregor. Other than those unrealistic options, the fight with Golovkin would be a huge fight which is why Golovkin which is why Golovkin deserves a percentage not a flat rate because he's also bringing in a lot of the viewers. I'm not saying Golovkin deserves 50/50 or 60/40, but he definitely deserves a good percentage.

Golovkin vs. Jacobs doesn't even come close to that fight. Granted it's a slightly bigger fight than Golovkin's other fights. But it's not a huge fight. Golovkin has 3 belts, Jacobs just has an interim belt. Golovkin is the one who brings in the ratings, not Jacobs. It's not even on the level of Kovalev vs. Ward.

If Golovkin vacates his belt, then we can say he didn't want the fight. But last time I checked Jacobs has Haymon in his corner and Haymon has the type of resources to get Jacobs the money he wants. So we'll see in 4 days what will happen.

I honestly think a 35% split for Jacobs is fair, same as Golovkin deserves a 35% purse against Canelo.

Financially though, Jacobs deserves about 10%. He couldn't even sell out HALF of Barclays center lol, in his hometown. GGG is a worldwide phenomenon. Maybe if Jacobs didn't cherry pick the last 4 years, and instead chased all the best names like GGG, then he would be more of a star too, and could demand a better purse. Instead he took the easy money against easy names so all his fans deserted him, and now he has no fan base or marketability to bring to negotiations with a superstar. That's his fault not GGG's. Is Jacobs a bigger star than David Lemieux? No so he should take the Lemieux deal, even though HBO is actually offering him way more because of Canelo's injury. Jacobs is lucking into extra money his marketability doesn't warrant but he's still chickening out. Just shows how Haymon operates.

You terribly wrong on this one
GGG is a worldwide phenomenon. ..............sure, ask the average person on the street who GGG is, most of them, I'd say 97% doesn't know who he is, but he is a worldwide phenomenon.

if they have offered them 25 percent, marquez is correct. Jacobs is entitled to more than that, takes two to tango and he should be paid more. 60/40 is what i think it should be.

GGG is desperate for this fright so 35% would seem fair. If GGG is fair the people will expect nelo to be fair and give GGG 40%

I agree with most between 30-35% is about right. GGG ought to okay this just to get Jacobs in the ring KO him and shut some of these critics up. I like Jacobs, great person, amazing story but we all know he can't take punches to well. If Mora dropped him GGG gonna shut the lights out with one well placed bomb.

You don't make concessions to mandatory defenses who are far smaller names than you. The onus is on Jacobs here, not Golovkin. Jacobs is the challenger, Jacobs is the unknown name, Jacobs is the one proving something in this fight. Golovkin's concessions should only come against equal or bigger names.
Your point is well-taken. However, even with Rigondeaux, concessions must be made if you want the fights that you desire. For Rigo, maybe you have to take a smaller cut or move up in wait to get LSC, Frampton, and/or Quigg to fight you. I'm not saying that it's right, but if you want the fights, that's what you have to do, especially when you are not a draw.

In GGG case, I disagree. The onus is very much on GGG as well. He can't keep fighting the Dominic Wade's of the world and gain status as a superstar. He needs legitimate competition. Jacobs could very well drop the belt and line up fights with BJS, Eubanks Jr, or even Canelo because he is less "avoided." I understand that GGG is the bigger name (which is why a 2 to 1 split is around the range that many people find reasonable), but I don't think GGG is free of making concessions when he needs someone respectable on his resume, which Jacobs would provide. Hopefully, they get this thing settled and we can get some good boxing in a couple of months.
