That'd make them even bigger hypocrites than they already are though. The whole raison d'etre of having a 'super' champ (at least as stated by on their website) is in recognition of the fact that unified champs will have extra commitments - such as, I guess, fighting their mandos for other orgs.Comment

GGG's team consistently offer their opponents around 40%. Macklin received 44%, Lemieux was 42%, if I remember correctly. I doubt they lowballed Jacobs, they probably offered him around 30 - 35% but Jacobs got greedy. 70 - 30 or 65 - 35 seems appropriate for Jacobs; it's also what I think the GGG - Canelo split would be, fairly.
I agree 25% is too low, but those are the rules.
this is what a genuine boxing fan would say.....
"I agree 25% is too low, Team Golovkin should be more fair with Jacobs..... they seem to be much fairer with lesser fighters..... e.g. 40%. Macklin received 44%, Lemieux was 42%"
this is what a fanboy twat would say.....
" I agree 25% is too low, but those are the rules "
Just saying ^^
You either knew, or researched all of that information..... you categorically PROVED that Team Bull**** are low-balling Jacobs..... and yet you still support them?
Fkn shameful..... ******ly shameful.
If you support that bull****, why would Team Golovkin stop doing, that bull****?Comment

I understand their logic, but Wade was not the mando, it was Taureano Johnson. Johnson was hurt, so the WBA should've called the IBF and said "Hey, let GGG fight Jacobs, and then fight Johnson when he's ready." I really don't think the IBF would've stripped GGG for fighting Jacobs instead of Wade! That'd make them even bigger hypocrites than they already are though. Well I don't read it that way. To me if Jacobs team was asking the WBA to adjust the split to 60-40, its because team GGG was offering less than 40%. If Jacobs doesn't accept a measly 25% it doesn't make him lose face. If anything, its another failed negotiation by Golovkin's team. Its becoming a bit of a laundry list of marquee opponents that GGG's team didn't land because of their "tough" negotiation stances. Canelo, Ward, Lara and now Jacobs. In my opinion - and this is just pure opinion - I think GGG's team probably offered a 60 - 40 split or a 65 - 35 split. I think Jacobs wanted 50 - 50 because he doesn't have any faith in his ability to actually beat GGG.
Now that counteroffer wasn't accepted, I think GGG's team are calling his bluff and going to purse bid which is 75 - 25, meaning Jacobs either loses faces as a duck/coward, or he takes a smaller financial settlement. Hence why he asked the WBA to make an exception and put it to 60 - 40, which they rejected.
I think GGG's team will end up giving him more than 25% to make sure the fight goes ahead - maybe around 67.5 - 32.5?Comment
