Comments Thread For: Golovkin-Jacobs: WBA President Gives His Take on The Situation

It was announced by the World Boxing Association on Wednesday afternoon that they had rejected the request of Danny Jacobs and his representatives to have the purse bid split with Gennady Golovkin modified from the standard 75-25 (in favor of Golovkin, who is the WBA 'super' champion at middleweight) to more favorable 60-40.

WBA should've ordered GGG vs. Jacobs instead of allowing GGG to fight Dominic Wade.

And he was ranked #3. They just went down the line until they found a bum.

And Mando should START and STOP at #1. If they can't fight or injured. Wait until they heal or have the #2 and #3 fight for the #1 spot. Don't F'N go down the line just for a quick $$$$ grab!

This is ridiculous. GGG's team needs to offer the same contract to three different MW fighters at the same time. They can't keep betting that a single fighter will not just use them for free publicity only to then just bail on them at the last minute. They should have learned this from the Eubank Jr negotiations. If that happens again to them they will be partly to blame. What would Jacobs do if the public knew that two other MW's have already agreed to fight GGG if he doesn't sign by a set date?

How many fights did Dominic Wade have? Now ask yourself, "how did he become the mando?" Tureano Johnson was the mando, then he got hurt, and they came up with Dominic Wade! Would the IBF strip GGG if he fought Danny Jacobs vice Dominic Wade? If they would, is the belt really worth having?
