The situations are so much different. How many more views or tickets is Jacobs going to sell? This is a fight to please the hardcore fans.

GGG will most likely triple Canelo's current buy rate. GGG brings tons of financial value in that situation, where Jacobs brings very little in this one.

GGG and Jacobs both must accept the reality that they are the "b-sides." GGG has way out sold Jacobs, and Canelo has way out sold GGG. Sometimes you have to lose a battle in order to win the war.

The fight is happening. There is nothing that should stop this fight from happening. But as far as what's next? I saw Dougie Fischer mention GGG-Hopkins at 168 for Hopkins last fight. He was throwing that out there not sure how serious that's being considered.

I like Hopkins and he's a for SURE HOFamer but GGG fighting a guy who will be months away from 52 years old??? That's a lose/lose situation for GGG.

I will lose a lot of respect for GGG if he takes that fight. Might as well add Roy Jones for the same night to fight winner and complete the freak show.

The last two years the belts have been thoroughly watered down. Frampton told Quigg he isn't a real World Champion. Same applies here.

But that boxing!!! You have to challenge the champ in order to become the champ and all the benefits that comes with it. These challengers all of a sudden don't understand how rankings work?? EVERYONE'S goal is to become the champ of their division. Simple as that.

No not according to "Fans". It is all about the money and titles mean nothing. Otherwise the fact that Golovkin is one belt away from being undisputed champion would be a bigger deal. And Champions wouldn't vacate titles just to avoid fighting someone.

That is what they are trying to do. the WBA has stated that they only want 1 champion per division so they want to unify their interim, regular and Super belts. Jacobs should of fought Blanco before Golovkin though because if the winner of Jacobs and Golovkin has to fight Blanco I think that would be a step backwards. The WBC normally has their Interim Champion face their Regular champ with in 12 months. So they are also trying to only have 1 Champion per division.
