It's no secret that certain members of the boxing media have an agenda. This just confirms it.

I miss the days when journalists were objective and just reported the actual facts.

The voices in Russell's head must be messing with him. How anyone would construe Abrahamson's article as a hit piece on Haymon is beyond me.

"Russell (27-1, 16 knockouts) made it clear he’s happy with the way Haymon has handled his career, even if he hasn’t fought since April 16. His last fight before then was March 28 of 2015, a fourth-round stoppage of Jhonny Gonzalez. A number of high profile fighters under Haymon have also been plagued with inactivity and fought only once this year, such as Danny Garcia, Danny Jacobs, Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter, among others. No one has complained publicly and Russell was careful to make sure his comments weren’t construed as criticism of Haymon.

“Al Haymon has done a wonderful job so far with my entire career,” Russell said. “I’ve been blessed. We’ve had a smooth working relationship with Al for my entire career. There’s nothing that I haven’t asked him for that he didn’t fulfill and I’m looking forward to moving on this year.” Because of that relationship, Russell plans to stay with Haymon for the rest of his career, he said."

They certainly do but then they don't have contracts like the Haymon fighters that demands no public criticism of Haymon. All this shows is the intense creepiness of the Haymon-fighter relationship

When exactly was this noble period of objective boxing journalism?

LOL because the author is creating his own narrative. He segues into inactivity and then says Russell is "careful to make sure his comments aren't misconstrued as criticism."

Uhh careful? He's gushing over him. So where does the careful come from? This is why I really only read quotes in articles, especially as it relates to boxing. People just make up **** in their head.

Jim Lampley's rang on the last edition of The Fight Game was hit piece against Haymon. A flagrant one.

Russell's using dirt to make a mountain out of a molehill with the Abrahamson piece.

Possibly but he's within his rights to take umbrage with how the piece was crafted. "Careful not to criticize Haymon?" That's nonsense that fits the writer's narrative.

Well done Ring, Keep fading into obscurity
Yesterday I tried to go to the Ring website and could not remember the address for the life of me which I knew by heart. Then found out they got a new address.

I know I don't speak for the general public but it wouldn't surprise me if there's people out there who haven't visited that place in years like me.

Yeah, I call BS. The dude fought a nobody for $800k and wants higher purses. Get the hell out of here, Walters and Loma, two guys who are in top15 p4p are fighting each other for less than that.

And it's a widely known fact that Haymon fighters walk on eggshells around Al. They never criticize him and always thank him after their matches, DESPITE the fact that he's not their official promoter - he's an advisor.
