And people wonder why Haymon would rather not ever deal with the boxing press, lol.

Gary Russell Jr went to an alleged boxing site, in an effort to big up his charity effort, and the author simply took whatever words needed to write the story that he wanted to right to begin with.

Who in the boxing press, name any reporter you want, could be given a two-hour interview with Haymon and not simply turn around to make a hit piece? lol

Meh. Russell is screaming bloody murder and no one is giving a ****. If there was any real substance to this Boxingscene would've followed up on it by now.

An escape goat? Is that something like a getaway car?

Did he say 'Thanks Al' at the end of his statement?

This is a gross overreaction on Russell's part.
No its fishy that it was mentioned when it had nothing to do with the subject at hand. And if no one is complaining then why throw the word "publicly" out there when brings an assumption that it might be happening in private.

That's another question that can be thrown into Russell's conspiracy theory that Ring Magazine is out to defame him.

there is a reason for this. these "independent" companies are bureaucracies designed by the system along side THEIR nature to attack certain individuals

Ring just wants to talk down on haymon because that's their ownership's prerogative. That's why the magazine always refers to Haymon as his fighter's promoter instead of adviser.

The same can be said for the majority of boxing media. Some of those media members have been alot more vocal about it too.

And as it turns out, Gary's gripe was actually part of a press release sent out by Team Russell (This is according to Fighthype).

You're right about that. haymon not giving the media the time of day has rubbed them the wrong way, but I've never seen him labeled as a promoter, usually its adviser or manager. THe reason Ring does it is because of Oscar's lawsuit in which he wants to use the Ali law against Haymon so he needs Haymon to be a promoter as well as manager.

The fact that it was for a press release makes it more suspect because the event in question had nothing to do with what the writer was going on about
