Why would you think that? You saw the interview with Jacobs saying hed rather fight 2 Quillins for the money offered, cause in his mind it's a super mega fight.

How do you play hardball when you're a mandatory challenger, way less popular then the 3 belt champ, due 25% at the purse bid?

        * jacobs will easly be the most dangrious on ggg resume

*jacobs would easly as well knock out everyone ggg faced

        * GGG brings the belt BUT only won one IN the ring

point is ggg should get the lion share of the pie but ggg needs this fight (maybe even more) as much as jacobs need it

25% can be the biggest purse OR the smallist purse of his career ggg should give more of a % to jacobs he himself really need this fight too

[Mind you while jacobs is a paper champion he was still PAYING the WBA fee as if he was a champion so just giving him a 25% split as he was always regarded as a contender is just BS ]
No. Quillin was garbage before getting KOd. Everyone knew that except the dudes who only liked Quillin for being Black. Quillin was never anything special. Murray and Macklin would beat him and probably Rubio and Lemiuex as well.

I think the writer misinterepted the actual video interview Jacobs did. What Jacobs said was why would I fight Gennady when I get the same too fight Quillen, Not why would I fight him for 2 Quillens. ( Side note love how it's just 1 or 2 Quilkens not actual numbers ) This 2 Quillen non sense is just repeated by the Gennady faithful to make it seem like K2 actually want the fight when in reality they offered him less then 1 Quillen knowing itd be turned down. Kind of like Canelo offered Gennady a flat fee it was a offer but it wasn't done in good faith and couldn't be expected to get accepted

At the end of the day Jacobs is probably Gennadys biggest challenge at MW and K2 would rather play hardball in hopes of not getting the fight done then to negotiate over what 5-8%

Which makes me think your Ok with Canelo team doing the same to Gennady am I right. I guess who ever is A-side gets to *** f.uck the b-side. Truth is if you want the fight the A-side only gets to *** f:uck a bit not go full ******

This ain't launching him anywhere...if/when he beats ggg THERE IS NOTHING LEFT AT 160
He's the challenger and trying to act like the champion in negotiations.

Realistically, this is probably Jacobs strategy at the moment.

Avoid the GGG fight, try and not get stripped. Secure a fight with Saunders, (which is much more winnable for him) and also a fight that Saunders would sooner take than a GGG fight.

Make a few defenses of Saunders belt, then cash out on GGG at a later date.

If I was managing him that's the direction I'd be steering him in just from a potential earnings and career longevity standpoint.

I think when Jacobs was running his mouth he was expecting one of two things to happen.

GGG would come to a deal with Canelo, or GGG would come to a deal with Saunders.

I don't think he expected GGG to turn to him.

Really, misinterpreted? Wouldn't Danny deny it on twitter or something? It's been quoted 100s of times. How do you misinterpret this?

‘Wait a second. I could fight two Peter Quillins and make the same thing.’

Its funny, because Quillin was about to be KOed by Gabe Rosado before landing a lucky punch that opened the cut that stopped the fight. He dodged the bullet there.

Then if Rosado would have gotten the victory he was going to get, and Jacobs fought Rosado, would people be singing the praises of Rosado?

                    Most likely not.

But Quillin, who was on the verge of getting KOed by Rosado, who then vacated his belt to avoid Korobov, and escaped by the skin of his teeth with a draw against Andy Lee is the best fighter on either's resume.

Willie Monroe beat Gabe Rosado far more convincingly than Quillen did, does that make him Quillins equal?

The same Quillin that was outboxed by N'Dam, who looked like garbage vs Luka Konecny (who ever that is, Im sure you remember his lackluster tuneup fight).

When did Quillin become so highly regarded? lol.

And that cut was absolutely not worth stopping the fight over. They were clearly happy to end that fight right there because Rosado very well could have won.

This idea that Quillin is better than anyone Golovkin's fought is nonsense. People just say that because he was one of the few top middleweights Golovkin never got in the ring from that 2012-2015 time period. It was easy to hype him up since he was ducking. Quillin never showed anything in the ring to suggest he was better than Macklin, Murray, Geale, or Lemieux. Hell, he was worse than some of them, probably.
