    Well said!

GGG has paid his dues. He was offering to take fights for free in his day. Now he's the man at 160. Make the deal or take the mandatory split, what's so hard about that? Hopefully Jacobs takes the deal because he doesn't have that many options for a big money fight (I assume K2 was offering him more than 25%, otherwise why negotiate?).

It's gonna happen. I'm optimistic. This will be the end of Jacobs career if he vacates. There are no other fights out there for him.

Yeah, Danny is a good sized MW at 6'0" and he certainly wouldn't be undersized at 168. Also he's nearly 30, the age at which it typically becomes harder to sweat off those extra lbs. In non title fights he's fought well above 160 on a number of occasions - even 169 once - suggesting that's where his comfort zone lies. Add to that the fact that SMW is pretty thick with Haymon guys at the top end so making fights shouldn't be too hard and it starts to look like a very good idea for Danny.

Still, it might take him a while to work his way into the kinda opportunity he has right now, and there would still be no guarantees of success... it's Dannys call I guess.
That line is getting old...look how easy Jack-Degale is made, look how easy thurman-dsg is getting made, thurman-porter was a cakewalk what only a year to make? this is the "diva" era, where there are no fights being made easy.

That will kill this fight, unfortunately.

Team Bull**** will not negotiate in good faith..... and Jacobs will not accept 25%..... so, that looks to be about it.

Thanks Team Bull****, for your unwavering contribution to boxing LMAO

Question is how much would you bid knowing no one else is going to give a serious bid?? Its probably going to be between $3-5 million.
... tf? Stephen Espinoza has made it publicly known that Showtime is going to be heavily interested in airing the fight, and Barclays Center made the move to make Daniel Jacobs the face of their "Brooklyn Boxing" brand, among other revenues.

Haymon's not going to have his name on the paper, but what is to stop Lou DiBella (after budgeting out everything) to put down a bid that 1)would be more than they believe K2 is willing to bid on the fight and 2)would be below what they can comfortably budget for Golovkin-Jacobs to end up doing on the revenues.

You add that K2 may actually be unwilling to even take the fight if someone else wins the bid (stripping Golovkin of the WBA belt) and things get interesting.

Follow the money; between Showtime paying to air Golovkin-Jacobs, a possible sellout for the fight at Barclays Center, the merch/sponsorship push from BSE, and the potential bidding war for the UK TV rights to the fight, among the other revenues, if you honestly think that the net revenues are going to be below $5m, you're a fool.

To here you tell it, DiBella/Haymon could bid $5.5m (talking to Yvon Michel to see what they could add to the show to increase the Canadian money interest in the fight), a figure that's not beyond what the fight could end up doing, and Golovkin's camp would compel him to vacate his belt; Jacobs ends up having to fight Blanco for the WBA belt (in an admittedly smaller fight), but the stage gets set for Jacobs-Saunders and Jacobs-EubankJr.

The Brook fight took 2 minutes to sign, because Team Bull**** were willing to split the pot fairly with Hearn.

Team Bull**** were willing to split the pot fairly with Hearn, because they really wanted to fight Kell Brook.

I highly doubt that Gennady Golovkin will ever be placed in harms way..... he is a fkn pu55y.

If they don't come to an agreement, Jacobs will vacate IMO.
If the bid is $4m, and the winning bid is Lou DiBella, Jacobs ends up entitled to his $1m take of the purse bid, plus his share on the revenues of the event beyond the costs.

Golden Boy got N'Dam-Lemieux for just over $100k, and David Lemieux ended up actually making over $1m on the fight (once the Canadian TV money, the Montreal gate money, the fee from FS2, and other revenues were considered).

Not sure why folks keep ignoring that point.

This means the exact opposite will happen. No one will take the fight for short money. ggg is looking for a new dance partner if he's smart

I get your point, but I agree with Pigeons..... Jacobs will likely vacate because Team Businessman will not negotiate in good faith, preferring to screw him at the purse-bid.
