purse bid and purse split are two totally different things, this fight was always gonna go to a purse bid because Loeffler wants it on hbo

Ha ha yes. Quillin may not be too pleased.

Yeah, Danny is a good sized MW at 6'0" and he certainly wouldn't be undersized at 168. Also he's nearly 30, the age at which it typically becomes harder to sweat off those extra lbs. In non title fights he's fought well above 160 on a number of occasions - even 169 once - suggesting that's where his comfort zone lies. Add to that the fact that SMW is pretty thick with Haymon guys at the top end so making fights shouldn't be too hard and it starts to look like a very good idea for Danny.

Still, it might take him a while to work his way into the kinda opportunity he has right now, and there would still be no guarantees of success... it's Dannys call I guess.

I was thinking the same thing . Make a great undercard for the fight..so you can make more money off the promotion. Promote GGG as this unbeatable fighter and make more when he fights your fighter Connello. If Del la hoya can pull it off it makes even more money for the Connello/ GGG fight . Win or lose for both fighter s isn't all about the money.

not so sure its the right thing the right thing would of been to increase his percentage by 5 or 10 percent. now the fight might not even happen if its a small purse bid

                One other question?

Say no other promotor shows up and you win the bid super low (Like Ortiz/Ustinov). But you always pay your fighter pretty good. Could u pay your fighter more without having to give the other fighter more than the bid percentage?? Or would the split be of what your fighter is getting paid???

                Example.

I win bid with $3 million 75/25 guaranteed split. But I don't want to pay my fighter $2.25 million but instead I want to give then $4 million (Yeah I know ****** and not good business). Could I still pay other fight $750K???

Oscar would definitely make his money back and HBO works with him. Too bad Canelo is injured if he got Saunders vs. Canelo As a co-healiner calling it the MW Tournament would be a DREAM.

Why doesn't Golovkin just give Jacobs 40% and a tuneup beforehand? SMH Lil G can't stop ducking, clearly he wants the fight less than Jacobs.
