Thats a good question. Its a travesty if HBO nixes a fight because the wrong bidder won the pursebid.

I'd be surprised if Jacobs' side wins a purse bid. But if they did, I'd be equally surprised (and pleased) if HBO let GGG go for that one fight. Although I don't see why not--very little chance he loses IMO.

On the other hand, I hope this fight gets made. I think 65-35 is fair but I haven't really thought it out, neither am I privy to such details so who am I to say? Just make the damn fight. Not because I think it's so competitive, but because the division needs fights like this. Plus it's a lot more interesting than the alternatives.

GGG/Jacobs isn't gonna get any bigger

If Jacobs is truly trying to push this fight down the road thinking it becomes a bigger fight he's fooling himself.

Jacobs has no other big name fights to make that will make him a star worthy of what he wants.

GGG can just wait for Suanders and unify, that fight would be bigger in UK than GGG v Jacobs in US.

This fight won't generate enough for Jacobs to make over 1.5m.

GGG v Lemiuex, a ppv unification needed to be on ppv just to cover the purses.

GGG can sell out MSG without Danny, but Jacobs can't sell out anywhere without GGG.
